U14 boys traveled to Kewadin for their season openers on Sunday afternoon.

Despite having only 11 players for no subbing opportunities, the boys played well! In game one against Boyne, they dominated the game for a 7-1 win!

Game two proved to be a battle against a strong Grayling team with a deep bench. The boys fought hard but ended with a 4-6 loss.

U12 girls started the fall season at home on Saturday with a great home crowd!

They struggled against a very strong and experienced Gaylod team and lost 0-4. The loss did not deter the girls from stepping up in game 2 against an Elk Rapids team. The girls started to work together and came out on top with a 5-1 win. ⚽️ 🥅

The U12 Boys Alpena FC Green team participated in the Lightning Cup near Rochester Hills this weekend and rounded off the tournament as finalists in their division.

They fought hard and were 3-0 in the initial rounds, earning themselves the #1 seed going into the finals.
4-1 VS Lapeer Lightning
4-3 VS Liverpool MI Central (winning on a direct kick with only seconds left in the game!).
4-1 VS Michigan Stars Oakland

They found themselves up against Liverpool again for the championship. The game proved to be a good match up as they went head to head throughout the match, tying in regulation time 2-2. Overtime proved to be scoreless as well. They ultimately fell to the finalist position after the game was decided via penalty kicks. It was a tough one.

The tournament team was compromised of keeper, Henry LeMonds, and field players, Reed Lappan, Ivan Krentz, Lucas Reynolds, Wyatt Gepford, Kayleb Hepburn, Isaac Notario, Parker Bedford, Owen Mathis, Beau Nowak,, Pierce Beatty, Jonas Supiran and Pierson Vivero.

Way to go boys! You should be proud.

Alpena U10 Girls Update!

The girls started the day strong with a 3–1 WIN over Boyne! 🙌 Goals scored by Ryen Herring and Brynlee Domke! ⚽️🔥

Game two was a tough battle against LSC, ending in a 3–0 loss, but these girls never stopped working. They played hard, battled until the final whistle, and gave it everything they had. Shout out to ZayLee Rabeau for 2 awesome games in the net💪🏼

So incredibly proud of this group and the effort they continue to put in each week. It was an awesome day of soccer, and we’re excited to keep building from here!

Alpena FC Boys U12 Green Team

The Green team opened up play against Grayling and LSC last weekend. They were able to pull off two victories with several players getting goal scoring opportunities. The back line helped secure the win. Henry LeMonds played in net and had the help of defensive players, Lucas Reynolds, Reed Lappan, Ivan Krentz and Kayleb Hepburn. The team takes on two tournaments in the next two weekends. They’ll first head to Rochester Hills on 9/12 for The Lightning Cup, followed by The Autumn Classic in TC.
