All donated items will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and help support neighbors facing hunger across Allentown, the Lehigh Valley, and Northeast Pennsylvania. 🥫

There’s just something about Competitive Exhibits time. ❤️ The past couple of days have been all about those finishing touches. Getting entries ready, making sure everything is just right and finally bringing them in to be judged.

And there’s so much anticipation that happens before they ever arrive here. On kitchen tables, living room floors, workbenches and wherever else people have been putting those final touches on something they’ve worked hard to create.

Here are just a few of the entries being prepared for drop off. We love seeing how excited everyone is when they bring their exhibits through the doors.

Next up: judging! And then comes the best part... when the Fair opens and everyone gets to come back, find their entries and see who earned a ribbon. 🏆

It’s one of those Fair traditions that never gets old. 😁

Like so many, we were saddened to learn of the passing of the incomparable Dolly Parton earlier this week. And in the days since, we learned something about her that made her story even more meaningful to us. Dolly was a 4-H alumna. 🍀

Long before the world knew her name, Dolly grew up in rural Tennessee with deep connections to agriculture, family and her community. Those roots stayed with her throughout an extraordinary life defined not only by her music and talent, but by an incredible generosity of spirit.

Her lifelong commitment to literacy and children, her love of where she came from, and her belief in giving back are values that feel very much at home in the 4-H community. There are some people who leave behind more than a body of work. They leave behind goodness that continues long after they are gone.

We knew Dolly as an American icon. A legendary entertainer. A philanthropist whose generosity touched millions. But somewhere along her remarkable journey, there was a little bit of 4-H green. 💚🍀 And, she definitely made this world a brighter place. ☀️💫

🚗 Limited Fairgrounds Access Through Gate 2- If you're visiting the Fair Box Office or Concessions Office, The Ritz Barbecue, or the Fair Employment Office, you can still access those areas through Gate 2 off Chew Street.

👋🏾 When you arrive, our gate personnel will ask where you're headed. At the time of this post, you may still be able to drive through to your destination, so just stop, let them know where you're going, and follow their instructions. 😁

As Fair setup continues 🎡 and our concessionaires and midway rides begin moving in, vehicle access through Gate 2 will eventually be restricted. You will still be able to walk through Gate 2 to reach these locations.

When you arrive, just STOP, ASK, and FOLLOW the direction of our gate team. They'll get you where you need to go! We promise! 😉

One of our own Fair community connections is on a pretty big stage tonight! 👑

Miss Pennsylvania USA Elizabeth “Liz” Voight grew up in 4-H, showed livestock and is a former Pennsylvania Fair Queen. Tonight, she is representing Pennsylvania in the Miss USA finals!

We love seeing someone with roots in Pennsylvania’s Fair and agricultural community take those experiences all the way to the national stage.
