Do you feel like you understand your husband? I know that it’s a journey that seems never-ending, doesn’t it?

But perhaps that’s because, deep down, we’re not meant to completely understand them.

Men and women, as we know, are wired quite differently.

So, let’s chat about some of the things that I’ve found (by asking them) that men actually care about:

❤️ They cherish moments when we laugh, show physical affection, and support their endeavors. But more than that, they long for understanding and validation in their roles as husbands and fathers.

❤️ Men appreciate clear and direct communication, whether it’s about household responsibilities, financial decisions, or simply expressing needs and desires. See if you can focus on acknowledging and affirming their efforts, instead of pointing out what they aren’t doing.

❤️ Men also need space and self-care. Men value moments of solitude and activities they enjoy, just as much as we do. By supporting their hobbies and giving them time to recharge, you are nurturing them AND your relationship.

Esther 4:14 reminds us, “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” What if, like Esther, you were deliberately placed in your family, as the mom and wife for your kids and husband. ❤️

The idea is simple: when a mom is in tune with what she needs, she becomes a better mom. Now, I get it, time is a luxury, and self-care might seem like a distant dream, but with some intentionality, time for your well-being can happen.

Your kids shouldn’t fear asking you questions, and you shouldn’t hesitate to ask God either. 🙏

Asking questions unlocks God’s truth, leading to freedom.

If you have ever said, “I can do this. I don’t need help”?!

I know I surely have been guilty of this same idea that I can do everything on my own. But that is not the reality.

Listen in to episode 33 of the MomsLikeUs Podcast where I sit down with some sweet friends of mine on self-care and getting the support you need.

The truth is, forgiving others doesn’t mean what they did was okay…

It means you’re choosing to release the hurt and let God take care of your heart.

Forgiveness frees you from bitterness and allows you to have peace.

When you hold onto grudges, it weighs you down. But when you forgive, you are free to live with a light heart, just like God wants for you.

When we forgive, we are reflecting His love. In Matthew 6:14, Jesus says, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

When you respond to their needs and comfort them in distress, you help them develop resilience and emotional strength.

Your soothing presence regulates their emotions and creates a sense of security that lasts a lifetime. ❤️

Sometimes, it feels like the long days of mothering are never ending and the stress of parenting is overwhelming. ❤️‍🩹

In the 12th MomsLikeUs Podcast episode, Mona shares a bit of reality for what needs to be a wake-up call for moms who feel that the days are too long and the stress is just too much.

It might be something that is too hard to hear; however, every mother of children under the age of 18 needs to listen to this episode and keep these wake up calls in mind. ❤️

Do you realize that God created women with all the wonders and abilities to take care of and nurture His treasure - little humans?

Have you noticed that He doesn’t send children to academic scholars or government compounds or even to churches? Nope. He sends His fearfully and wonderfully made babies into the arms of a mother.

And then, just like the father He is, He places the capable arms of an earthly father to protect both mother and child.

It is a beautiful thing when a new little family is born. Family is God’s idea and you, Lil Mumma, get to be part of that. ❤️
