Oggi con grande commozione condivido un articolo di pubblicato dal mattino di Napoli in occasione dell’anniversario della scomparsa del suo caro fratello Massimo.
Nel racconto viene menzionata Bea, una piccola bimba colpita da poliomielite ad un braccino: “Bea non si è mai arresa alla diversità ed è sempre in competizione con tutti. Non hai mai suscitato pietismo… piuttosto simpatia, tenerezza e solidarietà”.
Sono cresciuta con una mamma affetta da questa condizione e da piccola sapevo di non poter fare con lei quanto altri bimbi potevano invece fare con le proprie mamme. In una fase della mia vita questo ha inconsapevolmente sviluppato una visione distorta del significato di diversità, avendola purtroppo vissuta con gli occhi di bambina e percependone solo gli aspetti più difficili.
Con il tempo ho invece realizzato che la identifica e celebra la nostra e , in quanto ci permette di riconoscere il nostro valore e quello di tutti coloro che ci circondano.
La vita della piccola Bea mi ha aiutata a scoprire l’origine più profonda della mia più grande passione: nutrire l’unicità dell’individuo.
La piccolina di quel racconto era proprio la mia mamma.

Sono lieta di ringraziare la prof.ssa Ivana d'Angelo e l’Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli per avermi invitata come relatore al seminario “Sbocchi Professionali per i Farmacisti”.

I finally understood and admitted to myself that I am no stranger to the fear of . I could not imagine it had such an impact to my life. Sure, I've always told myself that failure is part of life, but once again it is easier said than done.
When facing a new challenge, I used to approach it with all my rational focus to the point of alienating myself from the rest of the world, moved by a subconscious desire to "control the situation”. An exaggerated energy expenditure and no real enjoyment from the actual journey were the natural consequence.
The consideration I had of myself being dependent on one specific outcome.
The way out: recognising my real and putting it at the forefront of the situation. In fact, those who are aware of their own identity, its intrinsic value and act consistently are more open to accept that there are equal chances to be successful or fail.
This perspective gives me energy and makes me feel stronger and more .
I then started approaching the challenge with my , as it is free from prejudice and it is the place of unconditional love and respect for ourselves and others. We do not listen to it enough, because we confuse a natural inclination to do it with the risk of being weak, feeling amiss in many life circumstances.

We receive lots of inputs and tasks to accomplish, often with a “suggested way of doing it” that reflect others’ view and expectations. This subconsciously gets us accustomed to a passive way of interacting taking us away from our and . The natural consequence? We live someone else's life.
Take your time to identify what your way is, and what a truly life looks like for you.
As former dancer, I always remind myself “dance like nobody’s watching”.
I totally get it: accepting who we are and ignoring external or self- is not easy, though it is a short-term pain for a long-term gain. There is nothing more powerful than living a fully expressed life that mirrors the own .

Children are a magnificent example of what is all about. Never tired of asking “why”, they in fact challenge the status quo while being naturally inclined to new learnings.
Growing up we start holding back our inquisitiveness, and in adulthood we fear to be judged and considered less competent if we don’t have all the answers, especially when we hold positions.
In truth, leaders should be more curious themselves and create environments where it is to ask questions, encouraging new ideas, better ways of working, and healthier .
It’s time to give voice to the child inside you, never taking anything for granted!

I noticed that it is still a quite common belief that embracing poses the risk to be perceived as weak, and generally means taking on the burden of someone else’s emotions.
The truth is that no inspiring leader can lack empathy and must rank it at the top of his/her personal assets. Easier said than done!
To be empathic you must first recognise and deal with your own to allow others the necessary space to express themselves safely and comfortably.
As humans desire to be seen and understood beyond their words, empathy unlocks the ability to sense people and consider their , taking active interest in their concerns.
