Sometimes 10:00pm conversations between business owners make for interesting realizations. Tonight, as we were talking about random things, we realized no one has gotten a hole-in-one this year at River Road! Not one person! We think it’s darn time someone did!

Sunday is a big opportunity because if you make a hole-in-one on #5 during the Moving Veterans Forward tournament not only do you get to buy drinks for everyone in the clubhouse 🤣😳🤪, you also WIN A RIVER ROAD GOLF CLUB MEMBERSHIP for 2027!! (That little number 1 on the scorecard won’t hurt anything either!!)

Sadly, if you’re not playing, you have no chance for a hole-in-one on #5 and, therefore, no chance to win a River Road membership for the 2027 season. But I’ll tell you what you DO have… You DO have the chance to come bid on some FABULOUS silent auction items!! Bidding will take place throughout the tournament and will close after the tournament ends. Come on out, we’ll have food and drinks and a spot on the deck or in the clubhouse while you try to outbid your friends on some great items!

This is so cool! We have the FAIRWAYS OF MEMORIES TOURNAMENT starting soon -COME! They still have spots open!!!- but LOOK AT THESE DOOR PRIZES! And- cash payouts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! A BIG THANK YOU to the hole sponsors and those who donated door prizes! And what a cool idea these guys came up with- MANY of the door prizes were purchased by IAM Local as a way to support the community while making this tournament memorable!!

Update: TWO DONATIONS from people in our community with a heart for veterans! No business to advertise, just a desire to help! Thank you, Phil and Peggy Shellenberg for your donation of two very nice cribbage boards, made specifically to support Moving Veterans Forward! Good people, well known for their caring hearts! Thank you!

Some things just hit different and this is one of those things! Today a donation was brought in by Brenda Hagedorn for the Moving Veteran’s Forward silent auction. No business to advertise, just wanting to help and support a local event! (I’m not crying, you’re crying!) THIS is what we’re talking about when we say we live in a great community!! You don’t always find this in the cities, but here? It’s just par for the course! Please come bid on these and so many other items, this Sunday! Bidding will run throughout the tournament and will close approximately a half hour afterward, about 4:30pm.

Check out these AMAZING SILENT AUCTION ITEMS available for bidding on Sunday, September 20, by YOU! That’s right, *ALL ARE WELCOME* to come check out the generous donations by local businesses and support MOVING VETERANS FORWARD through your chance to WIN one of the many items you see here, and more to come! Bidding will be available starting at noon on Sunday and continue until 1/2 hour after the tournament ends, approximately 4:30pm.

Come sit on the deck and have a drink or two and watch the golfers come in on #9. We’ll have food available and the chance to get in on a little of the fun while you wait for bidding to close.

It’s that time of year- we’re running out of daylight! In the interest of more golf for all, effective now Wednesdays and Thursdays will be open golf. No more ladies’ day or men’s day for this season. As long as numbers support it we’ll keep the kitchen open both nights so come golf, have a delicious meal and repeat!
