Rows are one of the best exercises you can do! But they’re also easy to turn into a whole-body movement.

That’s where the seal row bench comes in.

By supporting your chest, it lets you focus on your upper back instead of using momentum or worrying about holding your body in position.

Use it to build your lats, upper back, rear shoulders, and add in the pulling strength you need for carrying, climbing, and just moving through life!

You won’t find a sea of machines at Iron Soul, but you WILL find the equipment you need to train every major movement pattern. In lots of ways.

So... have you actually used this bench, or has it mostly been a table for your water bottle and stuff?

What piece of equipment should we cover next? Let us know in the comments!

There are exercises you like... and then there are Bulgarian split squats.

Love them or hate them, they’re a really effective way to build single-leg strength. Also called rear-foot-elevated split squats.

And this adjustable stand makes them just a little easier to set up. You can adjust the pad to the right height and focus on the movement instead of trying to make a bench work.

PLUS - a small adjustment in your body position can change what you’re working.

💥 Stay more upright and you’ll get more quads.
💥 Lean forward a bit and you’ll get more glutes.

Same exercise. Same tool. Different focus.

That’s why we like having specialty equipment around the gym. Sometimes the right tool gives you more options without changing the exercise itself.

We have two of these stands, one on each side of the gym. Feel free to move one wherever you need it on each side - just put it back when you’re done.

Team split squats or team absolutely not? Let us know in the comments.

“What is that even for?”

You’ve probably thought that about a piece of equipment in our gym.

So we’re starting a new series to explain why we have the things we have and how to use them.

The hip adductor and abductor machine can train both the inner and outer hip muscles. And they help stabilize your pelvis and control movement while squatting down and picking things up.

This is a way to train those muscles directly, and we like that!

You don’t need to know how to use every piece of equipment when you walk in to Iron Soul. Part of getting stronger is learning, trying new things, and finding what works for you!

So come on in and explore! And if you have something else you want us to explain - let us know in the comments and we’ll add it to the list.
