USATF Region 12 Junior Olympic Championships

Several Houston Olympians, Paralympians, and former athletes from Rice University, Rice Women's Track & Field, Houston Cougar Track and Field, Texas Longhorns Track & Field/Cross Country, and USATFMasters teams joined kids in this year's International Olympic Committee theme to inspire people around the world to make time for daily physical activity.

USATF Gulf Association Championship Update

After lengthy deliberation, the USATF Gulf Association has decided not to postpone Day 2 of the Gulf Association Junior Olympic Championship. Instead, the remaining portion of the championship has been canceled.

As a result, all athletes entered in the remaining running events beginning with the Boys 13-14 100 Meter Dash through the final running event scheduled for Day 2 will be advanced to the Region 12 Championship. In addition, all athletes entered in the following Girls Long Jump divisions will also be advanced:

13-14 Girls
11-12 Girls
9-10 Girls
8 & Under Girls

We are currently working with Athletic.net to process the advancements and finalize the results. Once this process is complete and we receive clearance from Athletic.net, Gulf Association athletes will be eligible to declare for the Region 12 Championship.

We ask for your patience as this process is completed. Advancing all remaining entries will result in larger fields for several running and field events at the Region 12 Championship, and additional time is needed to ensure all entries are processed accurately.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation throughout this challenging situation. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to prepare our athletes for the Region 12 Championship.

During the USA Track & Field Masters Southwest Region Outdoor Championships, athletes 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ age 25 - 94 pushed 👊 and powered💪their way through the extreme heat/humidity 🥵, rain🌧, and thunder storm delays⛈️. Thanks to everyone who made the meet successful!

😍What a it is for Mark Fisher! He won🥇the shot put (55-59 age group) at the USATF Masters Southwest Region Championships, and his daughter Leah Fisher won 🥇the discus (15-16 age group) at the USATF Gulf Association Youth Championships.

Leah is a rising junior at Fort Bend Bush High School. She will move on to compete in the discus and hammer throw at the upcoming USATF Southwest Regional Youth Championships in Houston, July 8 - 11.
