: Albuquerque Police say they've arrested the woman caught on camera hitting a truck with a bat during a road-rage situation this past Monday in Albuquerque.

Police say the suspect is Jenipher Lewis, and they arrested her today for allegedly putting her children in danger during that situation since they were in the vehicle with her.

Here's the official release from APD:

"APD officers arrested Jenipher Lewis today for putting her children in danger when she struck a truck with a bat during a road-rage confrontation on Monday in Northeast Albuquerque.

The incident, which was caught on video and posted to social media on Tuesday, occurred Monday around 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of Constitution Ave. and Wyoming Blvd., N.E. The cell phone video showed Lewis return to her red Nissan after she smashed the back window of a white pickup truck.

Shortly after Lewis drove away, the driver of the pickup switched lanes, accelerated into the intersection and crashed into the red Nissan from behind. The white truck pushed the Nissan into northbound lanes of Wyoming. Both vehicles fled the scene after the crash.

The driver of the white pickup truck has not been identified. The truck did not appear to have a license plate.

The license plate for Lewis’s red Nissan was visible on the video. Officers contacted the registered owner of the vehicle who said Lewis was her daughter-in-law and the driver of the car. Officers contacted Lewis, who said she was on her way to take her children to school on Monday when the white pickup pulled out of a parking lot in front of her. She said she pulled up along side the pickup and yelled at the male driver of the pickup, alleging he almost killed her and her children. She said the man started laughing and she grabbed a baseball bat from the car and approached the truck, claiming she was going to protect herself and her children. Lewis admitted to smashing the truck window with the bat.

Lewis is charged with abuse/endanger child’s life/health, driving with a suspended/revoked license and reckless driving."
