Here is a good 5k run coming up that supports a great cause. For those that can't make it to Zuni it has a virtual option as well.

Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque will be offering a new certificate program this fall. Classes can be attended either in person, online, or both. The curriculum focuses on helping save and preserve our tribal natural resources. Classes go in sequence so you if you're interested you should look at starting this fall.

Here is a peek at the Native Artist who created the design that will be on the race bibs and the 2026 Jim Thorpe Run T-shirts. (This is not the final design on the T-shirts, but similar) I had the honor of coaching him when I was the Cross-country coach at Volcano Vista High School here in Albuquerque. Jessie was instrumental in helping Volcano Vista's boys team qualify for state with nobody higher than 10th grade. If Jessie is as committed to his work as an artist as he was as an athlete, you will own a piece of early work. He currently has art hanging at the Albuquerque Sunport. The 2026 Jim Thorpe Run is dedicated to the team athletes we serve. We exist so that Native runners can be exposed to the top competition in the country, mostly at USATF championship events. For one of our athletes, Hosava Kretzmann, this has happened as he is now an Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon. You can help assist Hosava with your donation that allows him to train full time while also working towards his PHD. No donation amount is too small. When one Native rises above, we all rise above.
