How do you affect the universe around you? The people, the places, the animals, the situations, your community. Have you sent positive actions (not just thoughts, vibes, and prayers!) out into this world?
I'd like to think I have. ๐ค Just today I was saddened to learn that two of my favorite riders are taking a break from riding lessons. While I am crushed, my wife reminded me that this creates an opening for two more riders who need to become a part of the EEA family. To find a safe space with our herd. My heart swells with the thought of that. ๐
I have been thinking about all the kids who have come before them. My former riders are now leaving for college, getting their drivers licenses, graduating college, joining the military or getting engaged. I feel privileged to be a small part of their journey so far.
EEA lost a special volunteer last month. ๐ He left this world suddenly. We will never get to say thank you or goodbye to him.
I do believe he knew he was loved by this EEA family โค๏ธโ๐ฉน๐ณ๏ธโ๐ His path to finding horses was not easy. But in the end, he knew where his heart was safe. In that place where his heart was held by a horse. We will miss you, Ky! โค๏ธโ๐ฉน
As heavy as things are right now in this world, we must choose to bring a smile, a sweet memory, a kind word, or a selfless favor to those around us. ๐ We can affect one heart at a time. We get back what we put in, right? ๐งก๐๐๐๐ฉต๐๐ค

Today, I turn 55 ๐
Last week, my wife and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Life moves quickly, taking you with it,ย willing or not.
Who knows what the future holds for myself or EEA ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ต
50 was OLD when I was an 11 year old horse crazy 4-H kid!! Now, I'm looking ahead to what my next few years look like. Can I stand in the 100-degree NM sun every day? Can I work with 1,000 pound toddlers who attempt to injure themselves daily? Feeding said 4 legged toddlers is equivalent to a mortgage payment now!
When I struggled writing a business plan years ago, I did not have a thought about what 15 years later would look like. How could I have known I'd be here now?!
A decade with the love of my life
A successful business with a waitlist
More than a dozen horses rescued
Lives changed
Loses grieved
Family found
I am lucky to have all this, but I also know the work that went into creating, maintaining, and growing this from the ground up.
There are not enough words to express how grateful I am to still have a successful small business 13 years later.
Dreaming about a business of my own while working as a retail store manager seemed like an insurmountable hill! But I spent years reading, researching, and taking classes to get to this point.
I could not have made it this far without the neverending support of my family and my beautiful wife! ๐ฅฐ
Here's to another trip around the sun! ๐พ Let's make it a year of joy, creating, peace, discovery, and love! ๐ค โค๏ธ๐ฆ๐ณ๏ธโ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๐จ๐ด๐๐ป๐ธโค๏ธ๐งก๐๐๐๐ฉต๐๐ค๐ค

It's been an incredible two weeks of horsemanship! ๐
๐ฅฐ We did so many fun things! We did Zumba with ReVaH Loring. We learned how to lead a horse safely. We got to ride 5 very different rescue horses! We bonded for apples against the horses! We learned how to draw horses and how to write poems about horses. We need the 2 weeks with a fashion show presented by the kids and their volunteers! ๐คฉ๐จ๐
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who kept everyone safe!

First day of summer horsemanship!! 12 kids, 3 volunteers, 5 horses, and two dogs! ๐
What a day! We had so much fun! We groomed and rode the horses. We gave them all sponge baths. Then we watch our veterinarian give Sweet Pea, Cowboy and Tyson a chiropractic adjustment! Then we took temps, weighed and measured all the horses. So much learning! So much fun outdoors! Tomorrow, we do it all over again!

๐ข๐ Halfway through June, and we are almost sold out! ๐ Wow!!! ๐๐
Horsemanship runs from July 13 thru 17th and July 20 thru 24th. It is 9 - 3 pm.
Currently, we have 2 more spots Tuesday - Thursday of week one!
We have 6 spots available during the 2nd week.
Horsemanship includes learning all about horses and how to care for them, as well as riding skills, anatomy, equine evolution, styles of riding and tack, welfare, and feeding, too! Afternoons are spent under the tent, creating fun horse art. We will have a poet, a painter and a farmer, join us for even more fun! And the 2nd week, we will be joined by our farrier, so participants can learn what happens when a horse gets its hooves trimmed!! ๐ค ๐ฆ
