Congratulations to our newest Open Water Divers...Meg, Tavia, Don and Bradd! Certification weekend at Blue Hole in Santa Rosa went swimmingly and all four did great. Two certified family members teamed up as dive buddies and dove together while the group was doing their certification dives. Love it!

Can't wait to dive with everyone at an upcoming Bubbles & Brats!

13-year old Ben got certified for Open Water Diver in Feb 2020 at NMSC. Recently, 20-year old Ben returned to NMSC for additional training. As the class started, he thought the instructors looked familiar. During introductions, it clicked. Sheila and Adam Hernandez had been in Ben's open water certifying class! They didn't recognize 20-year old Ben but well remembered him from OWC. They were even able to dig up a picture of their 2020 Blue Hole Certification Weekend....which earned some laughs!

Great to see you Ben! Let's dive together again soon!

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Fernez-Le Prieur diving apparatus demonstration. The unit was tested and shown to the public on August 6, 1926 at the Tourelles swimming pool in Paris, France. This was the first time a self-contained compressed air diving set-up gave a diver total freedom underwater.

In honor of this grand event, August 6th is now recognized as International Scuba Day! 💦🤿

July Bubbles & Brats Celebrated the 3rd Anniversary for Two NMSC Dive Buddies!

Tom Groom and Alison Webster had not met when each drove out for Bubbles & Brats in July 2023. Tom is a NMSC Assistant Instructor. Alie is a veteran diver with 500+ dives.

Soon sparks were flying. Divers who were there that day are quoted as saying "by the time we all left Blue Hole, we knew they were going to get together!"

Today, the happy couple has traveled together to England twice (Alie's home country), been scuba diving in Belize and Barbados, along with other exciting life adventures....including many Bubbles & Brats!
