Lobos Picked as Favorites in MW Cross Country Preseason Polls New Mexico Cross Country enters the 2026 season as the favorites to win both the men’s and women’s team titles in the Mountain West for the third straight year after being voted No. 1 in the conference preseason coaches’ polls, the league announced Wednesday.

Lobo Legend Josh Kerr Breaks Mile World Record in London LONDON, England — New Mexico Track & Field alumnus Josh Kerr cemented his place in history Saturday morning, breaking a 27-year-old men’s mile world record with a time of 3:42.66 at the London Diamond League.

Gauson, Samuel, Jepngetich Take Home USTFCCCA Mountain Region Honors Habtom Samuel was named Mountain Region Men’s Track Athlete of the Year, Marion Jepngetich was named Mountain Region Women’s Track Athlete of the Year and Darren Gauson was named Regional Women’s Coach of the Year as the USTFCCCA announced regional awards for the outdoor track season Thursday.
