09/15/2026

The Albert Lea Cross Country Team competed at the 60th Annual Faribault Meet on Friday, September 11. The Tigers had a great meet with 26 athletes competing in 5 different races against 19 other teams including Ashton, Kawmushee, and Hailey who raced for the first time ever on Friday. Zack lead our Boys Varsity Team with Xander, Milo, Andrew and Ethan contributing to our team score. Our Girls Varsity Team was lead by Elle with Alizay, Lola, Charley, and Crystal scoring for the team to beat Red Wing and Faribault for the second time each this season. Coaches Aaron Bauers, Autumn Dauer, and Alissa Sauer are very excited and proud of the athletes as their efforts really paid off this season with 11 Season Best times and 10 Personal Records on Friday!

🐯 Week 4 of Cross Country!! We had our meet in Faribault yesterday and it was a GOOD one! (Meet recap to come!)

🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ Our Pasta Person of the week is Jude! It’s his first year out for Cross Country and he set his personal 5k record at our Faribault Meet by almost 4 minutes!!

🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ Our Saturday Practice Tiger Game was the Tennis Ball Bounce Relay! Our winners were Lola, Xander, and Milo!

🐯 Week 3 of Cross Country was BIG! We had our first two meets of the season this week!

🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ Our Pasta Person of the week is Noah! He joined us last year after an injury in a different sport, and said he really likes cross country, but doesn’t like to run. 🤷‍♀️ He is always having a fun time cheering on the team and has worked super hard so far this season!

🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ We also learned in our Saturday Practice Tiger Game that we are all very, very bad at the egg toss. Many eggs were shattered this morning. 🥚

The Albert Lea Tigers Cross Country Team had their second and largest meet of the season on Thursday, September 3 at St. Olaf College. The Tigers handled themselves well with 8 boys and 8 girls competing in races of over 500 athletes per gender with 35 schools represented. We had 3 athletes, Jude, Armando, and Charley race the 5K for the first ever time, and one Personal Best time ever in the 5K run by Lani. The boys Team placed 27, lead by Zack in 104th with Milo, Andrew, Ethan, and Noah also contributing to our team score. With Elle at 90th, Lola, Alizay, Charley, and Crystal were able to place 24th as a team. Check out the full results at: https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/meet/276527/results/all. The Albert Lea Tigers Cross Country team is off to a hot start of the year at their home meet on Monday, August 31 at Bancroft Bay Park. The course was brand new to both the 20 returning athletes and the 8 newcomers to the team after some large changes that the new head coaches made this year. Coach Aaron Bauers and Coach Autumn Dauer were both very excited to see the hard work of the athletes pay off in each of the 4 races. The meet started off on a great note with Xander winning the Jr High race for the second year in a row! In the Newcomer race Armando, Jude, Lani, and Charley all had strong starts to the season as new high school athletes. The coaching staff is excited to watch our youngest and new athletes grow and improve this season. Next, the girls JV & Varsity ran in a combined race. With girls captian, Elle, leading the way, the ALXC girls took down Faribault for a 3rd place finish as a team. 🐯 Week 2 of Cross Country was a blast! We hope to see you on Monday cheering us on at our 1st Home Meet at Bancroft Bay Park!

🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ Our Pasta Person of the week is Jarius! He came to work hard with the team this Summer and the first few weeks of the year, even though he’s moving before the season ends. We appreciate your dedication to the team!

🐯 THANK YOU to the 63 Cross Country athletes, coaches, parents, siblings, grandparents, and supporters that joined us for the Tiger Fun Run this morning!!

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️We can’t wait for our TWO HOME MEETS on August 31 and September 22! We hope to see you cheering on our Cross Country athletes at Bancroft Bay Park!

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ We had a great time this week at practice! Our Pasta Person of the week is Addie! She always has something positive to say, and has worked hard all summer to be ready for the season!

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ We would like to invite ALL Cross Country runners and supporters to the Tiger Fun Run TOMORROW at 8am at Bancroft Bay Park to check out our NEW course! You are welcome to run the 5k, walk any distance, or be part of the cheering section! We hope to see you there!
