The Frank Wharton Open honors a man whose influence helped define golf at Fairlawn Country Club.

For generations, Frank was the steady hand, trusted mentor, and enduring presence who shaped the Club’s golf culture. He welcomed new Members, developed young players, celebrated victories, and embodied the traditions that continue to make Fairlawn special. His course record of 61, set in 1989, still stands as a reminder of the standard of excellence he established.

Today, we proudly continue a tradition that bears his name—celebrating competition, camaraderie, and the lasting legacy of a man whose impact on Fairlawn is still felt every day.
