Yesterday, we had our very first Intro to Tap Workshop at DDDS! It was a huge success, and they surprised me by teaching me an unexpected lesson. As an adult, and especially with the time we're in, I think it gets harder and harder to be a "beginner" at anything. Now, there are so many photos and videos online of the experts, but we don't see all of the steps it takes to get there- which isn't always the prettiest process! These kids being unafraid to take on something brand new to them, or return to their old passion, I think, is something all of us adults can really learn something from: live your life unafraid of making mistakes or trying new things! Those who judge usually don't have the guts to do it themselves! I'm so proud of these girls and it's DDDS's mission to make sure that they never lose this fearlessness!

Never taken tap, or looking to get back into it?
DDDS is excited to announce our first Intro to Tap Workshop at the studio! This two hour workshop is designed for students age 10-18 who are interested in starting, or re-starting, their tap dance journey! Taught by Mr. Matthew and Ms. Valery, students will review all of the basic tap steps, and leave with a vocabulary packet so they can continue their practice at home! By the end of the workshop, students will feel comfortable joining the junior or senior summer tap classes. Free to all students enrolled in summer dance at DDDS, $40 for others. Class of 2026- Allison Cicerchi 👩‍🎓🎓
Allison will be attending Ohio State University to study nursing.
Allison is such a dynamic and impactful performer! Allison was an original Company member when we started the program in 2022! So many students look up to Allison as a role model. We will miss her dearly!
