Our new season schedule will release Wednesday July 15th! Join our welcoming dance community and find the class or classes that are right for you! Ages Preschool through Adults with Beginner and Advanced options available. Offering Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Hip Hop, Clogging, Musical Theatre and Acro classes. It’s not only a dance education, it’s a great place to grow up!

An evening of dance with, Abby Minear, Radio City Rockette! It was wonderful seeing so many dancers experience the very unique style of Precision Jazz! Thanks to all who attended and thanks to Abby for bringing your talent, success, and joy home! 💜👯‍♀️

🎄👯‍♀️Martell School of Dance would like to reach out one more time to invite dancers to tonight’s Master Jazz Class with former Martell dancer and current Radio City Rockette, Abby Minear.

Let us know by emailing [email protected] if you would like to attend. You can pay with Venmo (send payment to with Subject Line: ROCKETTE) or we can charge current student’s cards on file in the Parent Portal.

Space is limited in the Int/Adv class but we have plenty of space in our Beginner class 🙂

If you aren’t sure which class your dancers should participate in, don’t hesitate to ask!

Beginner Dancers (3rd-4th grade Accelerated Tu through Level II): 5:30-6:45 PM

Intermediate/Advanced (Levels III-VI) : 6:45-8:00 PM

Twyla Tharp, born on this day in 1941, was the first choreographer to mix classical and modern ballet, and she incorporated pop music, like The Beach Boys into her work.

Tharp told Terry Gross in 2021 that she was inspired by watching the audience watching the Joffrey Ballet: "my sense of the audience was that they wanted to connect to the movement in a very different way than they were being allowed to, and that, in a way, the music was creating a wall. And I wanted to take that wall away. And so I put pop music in."

The resulting piece was the revolutionary "Deuce Coupe," choreographed for the Joffrey in 1973.
