Yesterday the road warriors participated in unplug IL, we ran tech free yesterday which can be good to do from time to time.

By not falling back on music it’s an opportunity to tune into your body & perhaps notice discrepancies in our running that we tune out on.

Thanks to all who made it out yesterday morning to highlight what we do!

And in general young & old can benefit from not having to have our phones with us at every moment of our day!

Friday Farmers Market finds:

Finally finished the beet pasta decided to switch it up with the spinach pasta (all fresh only the spinach & semolina).

Peaches & blueberries showed up this week & will be making a salad with purple potatoes & yellow beans. Plus there were the cutest little cauliflowers, so had to get them 😌

And decided to treat myself to some Summer flowers 🌺.

New month, new exercise of the month.

The weighted lunge with a twist is another full body movement (my fav) that builds leg strength, mobilizes the hips & activates the core.

Plus increases resistance & challenges balance & rotational stability.

Some things to consider:

• duration how long might it take to reach your goal?
• how will you measure or determine your success?
• what will you need to stay motivated or focused on the challenge?
• what pushes you a little outside that comfort zone?

Weekend wrap up:

1. Friday Farmers market finds: couldn’t skip this, cucumbers came into the mix, great for hydration

2. Lunch surprise at Foxtail on the lake, who knew this little lake existed with walking paths & kayaking right by O’Hare 🤷‍♀️

3. Club race on the 4th, super humid but nice course & the team did great! 🏃‍♀️🏅

4. Wrapped it up with a tri workout which was good but surprised to find my parking location all tore up, I’m sure it will be nice when finished but will miss the use of the park during construction. 🚴🏃‍♀️

That’s a wrap hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend & we will start looking at a the personal challenge for our team!

New month new focus!

This month the team will be tasked with picking a personal fitness challenge.

It can be big, small, short term, long term but the hope is they will personally challenge themselves.

I will go over how to do it, ideas on what to pick & we will track & celebrate as each team member hits their goal which may shift as they go but we will have a marker to hit.

I’m excited to see what everyone takes on!

We may have had a low turnout tonight at run but I had our A team, future runners in attendance!

The heat can be challenging but depending on your fitness level & listening to your body anything is possible.
