This recognition is so well deserved! His dedication, hard work, and commitment to our student-athletes and the Cooper Volleyball/Softball program do not go unnoticed. From the big things to everything behind the scenes, Mr. Coach is always there and always willing to help.

Mr Coach is someone whose dedication, loyalty, and commitment to our athletes and program truly cannot be measured. He is the definition of “no job is too big or too small.”
He is our maintenance man, statistician, bus driver, paperwork helper, facilitator, cleaner, mentor, and so much more. He is often the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. He works behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly and is always willing to step in wherever he is needed.
He has played an instrumental role in helping build our new program. He knows our athletes not just their names, but their personalities, their strengths, their struggles, and their potential. He constantly encourages them, builds them up, and makes sure they know they are valued.
He runs our mentorship assignments and takes that responsibility to heart. He is someone our athletes can talk to, lean on, and trust. He will pray with them and over them, offering encouragement and support when they need it most.
A great assistant coach doesn’t always stand in the spotlight. Sometimes, they are the person working quietly behind the scenes, making sure the head coach, athletes, and entire program have what they need to succeed. Without him we wouldn’t be as developed and strong as we are now.
He is loyal. He is hardworking. He is dependable. He is a servant leader. He is family.
We are incredibly grateful for everything he does, for our athletes and our program. There truly is no program without the people who are willing to do the work behind the scenes—and he is one of those people. Thank you Mr Coach from the Cougar Volleyball Program. . Richard Hawthorne
