Some folks measure wealth in dollars. Around here, we measure it in skills, hard work, and a handshake.
Today, me and Sassy spent the day helping out on a local farm, trading our labor instead of opening our wallets. In return, we brought home corn, potatoes, and wheat berries. That's the old way of doing things—neighbors helping neighbors, honest work, and providing for your family without everything revolving around money.
Bartering isn't just a thing of the past. It's a skill worth keeping alive, and it's another step toward a more self-reliant lifestyle. We're thankful for the opportunity, the fellowship, and the blessings that come from a hard day's work.

Well... it happened again. 🤦‍♂️
Someone said, "Do you want 7 free goats?"
Now, any normal person would probably think about it first. Me? I was already backing up the cargo trailer before they finished the sentence. 😂
So there we were... me and Sassy, rolling down the road looking like professional goat herders. The goats seemed to have their own opinions about the travel arrangements, and let's just say loading them into a cargo trailer was less "Yellowstone" and more "comedy show."
After a lot of coaxing, bribing, and questioning our life choices, we finally got all 7 goats loaded and headed home.
The good news? We got 7 free goats.
The bad news? We now own 7 more goats. 🤣
If anyone needs us, we'll be out in the pasture trying to convince ourselves that this was a good idea.
