Abbotsford Merchants Baseball

The Merchants defeated the Minocqua Wood Ducks 4-0 tonight in a Dairyland Large league game.

Tanner Hraby pitched a complete game, earning the win. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. The Merchant defense played well and did not have an error on the night.

Brett Nelson doubled in the second inning and scored on a wild pitch to give the Merchants a 1-0 lead. Dakota Ellenbecker singled to drive in Hraby in the fifth inning to make it 2-0. The Merchants would score two more in the bottom of the sixth inning as a Caleb Guden double would score Hraby and Blake Jakobi.

The Merchants rebounded tonight in an exhibition game vs the Dorchester Crescents. A 10 run second inning propelled the Merchants to a 12-4 victory.

Charlie Gierl earned the victory on the mound. He went 5 innings, giving up 2 hits, 3 runs, while walking 8 and striking out 4. Mateo Lopez pitched the final 4 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 unearned run, walking 2 and striking out 3.

The Merchants couldn't get the bats going tonight and fell to the Marshfield Chaparrals 6-5 in Dairyland Large league play.

Rhett Lamovec started on the mound for the Merchants. He went 3 innings, giving up 1 hit, 2 runs (1 earned), walking 4 and striking out 5. Tanner Hraby pitched the final 6 innings, allowing 4 runs, walking 2, and striking out 6. He was credited with the loss.

Offensively, the bats were cold as the Merchants only accounted for 5 hits.

The Merchants scored 3 in the top of the 9th to pull ahead for the Dairyland Large victory over the Rhinelander River Monsters 7-6.

An Aaron Morrow single scored Blake Bargender to put the Merchants up 1-0 in the top of the 1st. A Mateo Lopez double plated Tanner Hraby to make it 2-0 in the top of the 2nd.

Rhinelander would score 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to make it 4-2 Rhinelander. The River Monsters led 6-3 heading into the 8th inning.

A Hraby solo homerun in the top of the 8th inning brough the score to 6-4. Hraby added a 3 RBI double with two outs in the top of the 9th to put the Merchants in the lead 7-6. Charlie Gierl pitched a scoreless bottom of the 9th for a Merchant victory.

Gierl pitched the final 2 scoreless innings for the victory. Hraby pitched 7 innings, allowing 6 runs, 5 earned.
