“Open Football Festivals” in Mykolaiv Region
Autumn “Open Football Festival” in Myhiia Community ⚽️
On September 18, the football field of the professional college in Myhiia Community was filled with children’s energy, movement, communication and good spirits.
That day, the autumn “Open Football Festival” was held for the children of Myhiia Lyceum — an event where football became a foundation for active, engaging and meaningful leisure, communication and teamwork.
🏃♀️🏃♂️ Active games, football activities, a variety of exercises to develop physical skills, and team challenges — the festival programme was dynamic and packed with activities.
The children were constantly on the move, completing tasks, interacting with one another, supporting each other and enthusiastically taking part in every activity.
On the field, everyone had an opportunity to express themselves, try something new, work as part of a team and simply enjoy playing together.
🤝 Because the most important thing about the festival is not the result, but interaction.
Some activities included elements of competition, but the main focus was on participation, movement, teamwork and positive emotions. The children completed tasks together, supported one another, learned to reach agreements and act as a team.
The festival is particularly important in today’s circumstances. One of its key areas is psychosocial support for children, including children of military personnel, internally displaced children and children from frontline areas.
Through sport, movement and play-based interaction, participants had an opportunity to take a break from their everyday worries, communicate, feel supported and spend time actively and in a relaxed atmosphere.
🛡️ Safety awareness in wartime conditions was also an important part of the festival. In a child-friendly, game-based format, participants learned important rules of safe behaviour. Educational elements were combined with active games, making the useful information easier to understand and remember.
⚽️ Another objective of the festival was to engage children in football and an active lifestyle. For those who already enjoy football, it was an opportunity to immerse themselves even further in the world of their favourite game. For others, it was a chance to become better acquainted with football, try different activities and perhaps discover a new passion.
Through sport, children develop important values such as activity, discipline, mutual support, responsibility and the ability to work together.
The festival was attended by representatives of the sports and football community of Mykolaiv Region — Oleksandr Balakin, Head of the Football Association of Mykolaiv and Kherson Regions; Volodymyr Koval, Acting Head of the Youth and Children’s Football Committee of the Football Association of Mykolaiv and Kherson Regions; and Olena Moshkiv, Chief Specialist of the Southern Department of the State Institution “Mass Sports Agency of Ukraine.”
The children were also welcomed by Viktoriia Chumak, Head of the Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of the Myhiia Village Council, and Olena Porkhun, Director of Myhiia Lyceum.
🏆 Myhiia Lyceum of the Myhiia Village Council was presented with an honorary award from the Football Association of Mykolaiv and Kherson Regions for the development and promotion of football in Mykolaiv Region.
As part of the project, the educational institution’s sports facilities were supplemented with new, modern football equipment. It will be used for football training, developing children’s physical skills, active leisure and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
A certificate of appreciation from the State Institution “Mass Sports Agency of Ukraine” was presented to the project leader, Myhiia Lyceum physical education teacher Andrii Babiienko, for his active involvement in organising and conducting the festival, his personal contribution to engaging children in football and the development of the sports movement in the community.
💙💛 It was especially wonderful to see the children’s reaction to these moments. They were genuinely happy when their lyceum and the work of their teachers were recognised. Their emotions clearly reflected their love and respect for their educational institution and teachers, as well as their pride in their school community.
Overall, the children of Myhiia Lyceum made an exceptionally positive impression. They are active, open and creative, communicate freely, and interact easily with one another and with adults. At the same time, their discipline, organisation and respect for each other were very noticeable.
It was also clear that the educational institution instils in children respect for those who defend Ukraine against the enemy, for our defenders, and for the memory of those who gave their lives for their country.
These values are reflected in the children’s behaviour, in their attitude towards other people, their school and their country. This atmosphere — active, creative, patriotic and at the same time disciplined — was strongly felt throughout the festival.
💙💛 We sincerely thank the staff of Myhiia Lyceum, teachers, volunteers, parents, community representatives, police representatives, organisers, partners, the medical professional, journalist Viktoriia Klymenko from GARD City, and everyone who contributed to preparing and holding this event.
Thank you to everyone who helped organise the activities, created comfortable conditions for the children, supported the participants, worked behind the scenes and simply stayed close.
After all, everything is done by a team of like-minded people. It is through joint efforts that we can create opportunities for children to move, communicate, develop, discover new interests and spend their time actively and meaningfully.
When people who care come together, events like these are born — sincere, meaningful and important.
⚽️ The autumn “Open Football Festival” in Myhiia Community has come to an end, but its impact will remain with the children — in the form of positive emotions, new experiences, a desire to stay active, teamwork and an interest in sport.
Thank you to everyone who became part of this day!
Together, we are creating more opportunities for children! 💙💛
