🌧️ Upgrading Road Drainage in Switzerland
Heavy rainfall and snowmelt runoff can create significant drainage challenges in Alpine regions.
To improve drainage efficiency, a road pumping station in Glarus Nord, Switzerland was upgraded with:

❓What is an anode chip, and why is it used in seawater pumping applications?
In seawater, the anode chip is designed to corrode before the pump casing does.
The HCP Seawater Anti-Corrosion Joint uses Sacrificial Anode Protection to reduce corrosion of the pump casing and other metal components.
The anode chip is made from a metal that is more electrochemically active than the pump casing. When exposed to seawater, it corrodes first, protecting the surrounding pump components.
Installed at the inlet of HCP IC Series pumps, the joint offers the following benefits:
✔ Protects the pump casing
✔ Extends pump life
✔ Reduces maintenance costs
✔ Removable cover plate for easy inspection and replacement of the anode chip
Suitable for seawater intake and transfer applications in aquaculture, fisheries, ports, and coastal engineering projects.
