The 2026 Tobago Over 50's Cricket Fiesta got underway with an impressive all-round performance from Trinbago Strikerz, who secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over T&T Patriots at the Plymouth Recreation Ground.
After winning the toss and electing to field, the Strikerz bowling attack immediately put the Patriots under pressure. The standout performer was **Kishore Ramdial**, who produced a remarkable spell of **2 wickets for just 4 runs from his four overs**, including two maiden overs, restricting the Patriots' scoring opportunities throughout the innings. Early wickets and disciplined bowling left the Patriots struggling at 59/6 before a late unbeaten partnership between **Boyke Anthony Richard (20* off 17)** and **Sunil Dassine (10*)** helped lift the total to **94/6** from their allotted 20 overs. Freddie Rambarran also contributed a patient **19** at the top of the order.
In reply, Trinbago Strikerz recovered from an early wobble to chase down the target in **16.3 overs**. **Steve Sookdeo** anchored the innings superbly with an unbeaten **41 off 46 balls**, while **Jason De Freitas** provided valuable support with **20**. AMAAS Sporting Services opened their 2026 Tobago Over 50's Cricket Fiesta campaign in dominant fashion, cruising to a convincing seven-wicket victory over D & D Legends at the Moriah Recreation Ground. Chasing a modest target of 114, AMAAS reached 114/3 in just 14.3 overs to secure a comfortable win with 27 balls to spare.
After electing to field first, AMAAS produced a disciplined bowling performance that never allowed D & D Legends to gain sustained momentum. Anthony Morris set the tone with an outstanding spell of 2 for 9, while Sean Hunte and Wesley Straker each claimed two wickets to restrict the opposition to 113/9 from their allotted 19 overs. Deonarine Deyal top-scored with 27, Nizam Ishak contributed 21, and a late cameo of 18 from Prakash Nagessar helped push the total past the 100-run mark.
In reply, Pedro Agard stole the show with a magnificent unbeaten 82 from just 55 deliveries. Mixing controlled aggression with clean striking, Agard struck six fours and six sixes to anchor the chase from start to finish. Despite D & D Legends picking up three wickets through Adesh Dass (2/17) and Prakash Nagessar (1/18), AMAAS never looked troubled. Winston Warren provided the perfect finishing touch with an unbeaten 18 from 12 balls as the pair guided their team home in emphatic style.
A clinical display with both ball and bat sees AMAAS Sporting Services collect their first victory, sending an early statement to the rest of the competition with an all-round performance built on disciplined bowling and a match-winning innings from Pedro Agard.
