Game 1 vs Woodland FC

Opting to bat 1st fyzo elite found run scoring very difficult on an early season pitch which was a bit spongy. Rain delayed the start of play and at 43/3 in 14 overs rain stopped play again.

Excellent bowling and a damp outfield along with some questionable shot selection saw us to a measly score of 85/9 in 27overs.

Sherwin Lutchman lower down the order top scored with 26 and Keshava Ramphal opening the batting got 21 runs.

Bowling for Woodland, Ramesh Bridgelal had figures of 5/7 in 5 overs supported by Darlian Nehore and Javed Ramdhanie who picked up 2 wickets each.

Woodland got to their target of 86 in 16 overs losing 4 wickets in the process.
Shian Moonwha top scored with 45*.
Bowling for Fyzo Anderson Ramkissoon picked up 2/26 in 3 overs.

2nd round action takes place this Sunday Feb 8th where we take on Malgretoute at Home.

2026 cricket season starts today for us in the Southern Sports Div 2 Sunday league (30 overs) at Metronomes Cricket ground.

Join us in wishing our very own Shazard Manshoor a very Happy birthday!

Shaz is widely considered the back bone of the Fyzo team and his consecutive club MVP titles for 2024 and 2025 proves just that. The south paw opening bat with his more than handy off spin seems to be in the form of his life.

Our allrounder was awarded the MVP award in the Southern Sports league Div 3 for the 2024 season. He was the highest run scorer in the league with 706 runs, 3 centuries and 2 50s with a high score of 158.
He was also the joint highest wicket taker with 33 wickets that year at an economy of 5.27 with his off spinners. Truly amazing stats.

For the 2025 season he was the highest run scorer for the club with 622 runs and also grabbed 12 wickets. He has very safe hands as well and is mainly used in high traffic areas on the field.

Shaz has very high standards for himself, is very passionate about the game and wears his heart on his sleeve.

We wish you a very happy birthday Shazard and we only wish great things for you on and off the field in 2026 and beyond. Happy Birthday!!

At Fyzabad Elite, we celebrate performances that rise to the occasion.
Miguel Heeraman’s 132 off 66 balls in the Finals of the Southern Sports League Division 3 at BLCA was a masterclass.

Fearless, controlled and match-defining. Full of character, skill and though his eventual strike rate of an even 200 reflected brutality, it was a very calculated and thought out innings.

A century to remember.
A performance for the ages, one to be proud of and an innings that will last in the memory of those fortunate to witness for a very long time.

On Dec 21st 2025 our #3 batsman struct 13 4s and 7 6s. He came in to bat in the 12th over with the score at 86/1.

His time at the crease ended with one ball to spare in the 30 over innings with the total at 265/5.

Unanimously voted as the man of the match, Miguel powered Fyzabad Elite Metronomes Cricket Team to a daunting first innings total and eventually came out with the title by 69 runs.

This was Miguel’s maiden hundred for the club and he couldn’t have done it in a better time helping us to our first major title in the southern sports league.
