Cable Carnival is a live action watersports show which is the brain child of myself and ✘ LIAM PEACOCK ✘ 🤪

We grew up watching Nitro Circus performing crazy stunts and running live action shows and we wanted to create something similar - just based on water.

We are coming up to the 4th edition and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the story of Cable Carnival so far.

It’s been a crazy ride, with a lot of lessons learned.

If you don’t want to swipe through the story that’s okay, but if you’re close by to Spring Lakes Watersports on the 30th August then grab some tickets on cablecarnival.com ❤️

The idea of cable carnival was created during COVID

We had actually been approached by the national federation asking if we had any good ideas for a competition.

Every idea we had broke their rules; so we decided we should just set up our own…

The idea - to create a web series in which we invite the UK‘s best wakeboarders to take part in crazy challenges which the world had never seen before.

We really wanted to give riders the opportunity to get their personalities across in a ‘reality’ type series.

The first Cable Carnival was literally insane. I still can’t believe some of the challenges and content we got from it.

I’ll admit, I had serious expectations for the web series to go viral, but gained just a few thousand views on YouTube and I was left bitterly disappointed 😔

I actually nearly quit wakeboarding after this

But the good news is I didn’t, we took cable carnival back to the drawing board and we preparing for the fourth round now 😁

I’ve seen a lot of crashes in my wakeboarding career, but my dad’s front edge is still probably the worst crash I’ve ever seen in my life

Dad, thanks for being such a legend in coming down to send it ❤️ This clip is one for the history, books for sure

We did some really fun challenges speeding the cable up to as fast as possible Plastic Playground Wake Park in that first season.

One of my favorite challenges was the barefooting.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, no wind and glassy water.

Everybody took a beating on this challenge, but I still really love this clip of Kieran Owens .

It was awesome to

I did Boomtown fully sober and this is what I honestly thought about the festival.

I’m not going to lie to you and tell you I had the best time ever, in fact I found it very hard at times here’s why

My taste in music is different now to the last time I went many years ago but it really made me appreciate the DJ’s even more when a set got me truly dancing

It was a packed festival with over 70,000 people and it was hard to enjoy dancing when I felt like a sardine in a tin, previously I would’ve just drank more to deal with these feelings but this time I really had to deal with them more actively

My legs are dead from walking and I was actually fuelling myself properly! Crazy to think I used to do that for days with little food and no sleep

I don’t know how to write this without coming across as righteous, and I don’t want anyone to think I’m judging them. If you can practice moderation then I’m happy for you, but this festival seriously reinforced my sobriety decision to me.

This festival was always going to be a challenge for me, but there’s a lot of positives which have come from it - no hangover, great exercise and I got to dance a lot which I do really love!

I’ve definitely learnt some lessons from this festival on my sobriety journey but I want to tell you that I did have a lot of fun.

I was scared I would feel like I missed out on things, but actually I didn’t feel that at all!

If you think you might be struggling with addiction I hear you! Follow me along my journey navigating this new chapter ❤️

Getting excited for the upcoming Cable Carnival 🤡

Cable Carnival is a project that and I bought to life to celebrate all the weird and wonderful things you can do on a cable wakeboarding system 😁

I remember when I first saw cable wakeboarding it was this stuff that really made me fall in love with the culture and lifestyle. Even more than that, we love coming up with crazy ideas and putting them to the test!

What better way to showcase this than a live event?! We have always loved watching and definitely take a lot of inspiration from them 😁

This year we’ve got a brand new challenge which I’m really excited to try out. Will it work? I hope so, but even if it doesn’t it will be a good laugh trying it out 🤣

August 30th
Tickets available on cablecarnival.com
Hope you enjoy the show x

They say that ‘behind a great man is an even greater woman’

I am by no means a great man, but the woman who has stuck by my side over these past years is nothing short of incredible.

Our story is far from ordinary, and it would take me a long long time to tell the full version, but I do believe that by some divine intervention our paths were destined to cross 😇

From the moment that I first met Melis I had an undeniable feeling that she would be my future.

She has been my strength and support through the hardest times of my life.

I’ve been getting comments commending me for my bravery, and for telling the truth in my recent posts but the truth is this.

I would not be who I am today without this woman. I would not become the man I am becoming without her. I feel truly blessed to have found the person that I would do absolutely anything for. It’s a love that I never felt that I deserved.

It’s been a wild few months for us both and making any plans in this crazy life we are living has been incredibly difficult, but with her by my side I know I can conquer anything.

Melis, thanks for being you, thank you for being so kind, loving and willing to be by my side on this crazy journey we are on.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving me the way you do ❤️

I was terrified for my stag do.

I always knew that this weekend was going to be a heavy one. To tell the truth I was scared.

Everybody knows what happens on stag do’s. Drinks, drugs, raging hangovers and regrets

I assumed that would be the story of mine. I didn’t think it was possible any other way.

I honestly thought it would be boring without the drinks and naughties. How else is a group of lads supposed to have fun?

Well I committed to being the only sober man for my stag do, it was a test for sure. But my assumptions couldn’t have been more wrong. I was afraid that I would be missing out, or that I’d be a party pooper. But in all honestly I was surprised at how much fun I had…

It felt great to make the most of every day. Maybe I missed out on some of the twilight hour antics but does anything really happen then anyways?

The best part is that I knew I didn’t have to snap back to reality - I had been in it the whole time!

I’m starting to really see just how amazing life can be without feeling that I need to poison myself to have fun!

If you’re out there and think there’s no way to have fun without drugs or alcohol I can assure you that I know how you feel.

So here’s the reminder to myself…

You don’t need to escape your life to enjoy it.

Turns out, being present was the best part of the weekend.

If this post resonates with you stick around, I’ve got a lot more to learn!

How time flies! It’s almost 10 years ago since I was faced with a potentially career ending injury. Whilst I’ve told many people the story behind this many times in person, I’ve come to realise that I’ve never actually documented it anywhere online.

I took some time to sit down and write about this time of my life. I went from being signed on to the Ronix international team, to being faced with a knee specialist telling me I’d never ride again.

I wouldn’t be in the position that I am in today without it. This injury made me realise that my body wouldn’t last forever and that if I stood any chance of staying in the sport I love; I would have to figure out a way of earning beyond just being a performer.

It was interesting to think back to this time. My thoughts, fears and experiences.

I am stoked to announce Scarred Society has started its ’recovery room’ community chat - for athletes / action sports enthusiasts who are currently injured or who have recovered from a traumatic injury. Time spent in recovery can feel lonely, and leave you questioning ‘what’s next?’

You can read the full article and join the community on scarredsociety.com

Filming for a video project Plastic Playground Wake Park in December with The Mantis Collective

Why on earth did I think I wanted to session the XL kicker that day?

Fresh out of surgery number 2, still to this date the biggest scar I have on my body, and it’s a constant reminder for me of what I have overcome.

I visited Lake Ronix for the first time in the September after a solo networking mission to the annual ‘surf expo’

It was scary to fly there on my own. I had no idea what I was doing, and had to ask Scott Taylor & Nik Green for a pass in to the convention.

The goal was to try and get some face time with the too dogs at Ronix! They’d be crazy to have a young english rider on the team, but it’s worth a shot…

I quit my office job after just a few months - the high salary promise just wasn’t enough to keep me in it.

Instead I went to work Plastic Playground Wake Park where I had some of the best days operating the cable, and some of the longest days in the Aqua Park check in kiosk.

That kiosk made me never want to wo
