It is with profound sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Lou Dapeng, the founding President of Asia Triathlon. Mr.Lou passed away in Beijing on January 25, 2026 due to illness.

Mr.Lou Dapeng was an important founder in the development of triathlon in Asia. In 1991, he took the lead in promoting the establishment of Asia Triathlon and served as its first President, subsequently being re-elected for three consecutive terms until 2003.Endowed with profound sports literacy and outstanding international perspective, Mr.Lou laid a solid foundation for the development of triathlon in Asia and built a bridge for exchanges with the global triathlon community.

Though Mr.Lou has departed, his spirit will forever inspire us to move forward. Under the leadership of Asia Triathlon, CTSA will work closely with all member federations to continuously advance the development of triathlon in Asia.
