🦈 Rare, wild and never guaranteed.
International Whale Shark Day is a reminder that these extraordinary animals are wildlife, not a booking promise. If an encounter happens, divers should stay controlled, keep a respectful distance and never chase or block the animal.
The rarity is part of what makes a genuine encounter unforgettable.

🧭 A wall dive changes where you look.
At Koh Doc Mai, the interesting details can be above, below and inside small ledges rather than directly in front of you. Good buoyancy lets you hold position, look carefully and keep hands and fins away from the wall.
Ask whether the route fits your certification and recent experience.

👀 The reef's best disguise may be in plain sight.
Scorpionfish rely on camouflage, which is one more reason never to place hands or knees on the reef. Look carefully, keep good control and let your guide point out hidden wildlife without disturbing it.
The slower you look, the more the reef reveals.

🦶 Your fins tell the reef what kind of diver you are.
Slow, controlled finning protects coral, avoids clouds of sand and helps everyone see more. If you feel unstable, move away from the reef, pause and reset instead of grabbing or kicking.
Good buoyancy is not about looking impressive. It is practical reef protection.

Manta rays move all around Racha Noi, so you never know where one might glide past. South Tip is one of the island’s recognised manta spots and is known as a manta cleaning station.
Open Water divers and above can join this full-day, three-dive Racha Islands trip. The usual plan is two dives around Racha Noi and a third at Racha Yai, with breakfast or brunch, lunch, fresh fruit and afternoon tea served onboard.
With clear-water coral reefs, beautiful island scenery and your own private Thailand Divers guide, this is one of Phuket’s standout days at sea.

🪸 A moray's open mouth is usually breathing.
Moray eels pump water across their gills by opening and closing their mouths. It can look dramatic, but it is normal behaviour. Observe from outside the crevice, never reach into reef holes and give the animal room.
Understanding behaviour replaces fear with respect.

🐠 Confidence grows from small, repeatable skills.
Clear a mask slowly. Check your breathing. Signal early. Ask the instructor to repeat anything that is not yet comfortable. Progress is not about keeping up with strangers—it is about becoming a safe, relaxed diver.
