YOU KNOW ME FOR COMBAT SPORTS…
BUT THIS IS WHERE I CAME FROM. 🇹🇭🏆
Throwback to winning the PCA Thailand National Championships – Men’s Physique and becoming Thailand champion in my category.
I like sharing these moments every now and again because there are a lot of new people following me who only know me as a combat strength & conditioning coach.
But before the fights, the mats, the rounds and the performance training — there was bodybuilding.
For years, my training was built around developing muscle, symmetry, conditioning and ultimately stepping on stage to compete.
Since then, I’ve completely changed the way I train and the way I think.
I moved away from building a body primarily for physique and towards building one for performance — strength, speed, power, conditioning, movement and the ability to fight.
And I’m grateful I’ve experienced both sides.
I know what it feels like to prepare for a bodybuilding stage.
And I know what it feels like to walk out and fight.
Two completely different worlds, both of which have shaped the coach and athlete I am today.
A good throwback — and a bit of context for anyone who’s joined me recently and wondered where it all started.
ROAD TO UFC - SEMIFINALS 🇨🇳
Another big fight week for Bo Meng
Bo has been part of our team at Tiger for the last few years, and completed multiple S&C camp in our system, she has always been a standout athlete.
She’s incredibly well-rounded, but what stands out most is her attitude. She never complains, always gets stuck into the work, and is a great teammate to everyone around her.
Now she’s through to the Road to UFC semifinals in Shanghai, with another huge opportunity ahead of her on Friday night.
It’s been a solid camp and a great few months of work from Bo and the entire team around her.
Her work is done. She’s ready to go.
Good luck, Meng Bo. 加油! 🙌🏼
WHEN THE WORLD OPENED BACK UP, TIGER CAME ALIVE.
The first real high season after COVID and Tiger was absolutely packed.
Every day, hundreds of people from all over the world stepped onto the same gym floor.
Different countries.
Different cultures.
Different backgrounds.
Different goals.
Complete beginners training alongside experienced athletes and top professionals — all working hard, learning, pushing each other and sharing the same energy.
The classes were full. The gym was loud. The atmosphere was incredible.
Looking back, this period taught us a lot.
We were coaching huge numbers every day, constantly adapting, constantly learning and growing alongside everyone who came through the doors.
But more than anything, it was a great time.
Training hard. Meeting people from around the world. Building friendships. Enjoying life. Getting better together.
Different levels. Different journeys. One gym floor.
CAN YOU PERFORM UNDER FATIGUE?
That’s what we’re training here.
This is Aerobic Power — working around Zone 3–4 / threshold, where fatigue is building, breathing is elevated and recovery is limited, but we’re not pushing into an all-out Zone 5 effort.
15 seconds work. 15 seconds recovery.
🥊 Strike → Sprawl ladder
💥 Landmine rotational punches
🏐 Med-ball slams / rotational slams
🚲 Assault bike intervals
The purpose isn’t to completely exhaust the athlete.
It’s to repeatedly take the body into controlled fatigue, give it a short window to recover, and then demand another quality effort.
As fatigue builds, we’re looking to maintain:
Speed.
Power.
Coordination.
Movement efficiency.
Repeatable output.
That’s where threshold-based conditioning becomes valuable.
We’re developing the ability to produce hard efforts, recover quickly and reproduce them again — without needing full recovery between bouts.
In martial arts, you don’t get to stop because your heart rate is high.
You still have to move.
You still have to react.
You still have to think.
You still have to produce force.
So we expose the body to that environment in training.
Not easy enough to sit comfortably in Zone 2.
Not hard enough to completely empty the tank in Zone 5.
Sitting in that uncomfortable middle ground where the engine is working hard, fatigue is accumulating, but performance still matters.
The goal isn’t just to get tired.
The goal is to get better at performing while tired.
12KG DOWN. 12KG BACK ON.
Namo flew all the way back to Thailand for this camp with one goal — earn his UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series.
And we couldn’t have asked for a better camp.
Multiple phases of strength & conditioning.
Nutrition managed from the moment the fight was announced.
Every detail of fight week calculated and executed.
In the final 10 days, Namo dropped 12kg to make weight.
Over the following 12 hours, we put 12kg back on.
This isn’t the first time we’ve successfully hit numbers like this together.
After nearly five years working side by side, we know his body, we trust the process, and most importantly, Namo and our team executes.
We’ve been through camps together for 971 Fighting Championship, ONE Championship, UAE Warriors, Karate Combat, MVP Promotions on Netflix.
Now we arrive under the biggest banner in the sport:
UFC — Dana White’s Contender Series.
I’ve watched Namo develop from the early stages of his professional career into the athlete and fighter he is today.
He’s trusted me with his preparation year after year, fight after fight, and watching where that journey has taken him has been unbelievable.
Weight made.
Rehydrated.
Refuelled.
Camp complete.
Tomorrow, Namo steps onto the biggest stage of his career.
The work is done.
Good luck brother! 🤝🏼
BODYBUILDING BUILT ME.
COMBAT SPORTS CHANGED ME.
At this point, I’d made the transition from competitive bodybuilding into combat sports.
Years of lifting weights, building muscle and competing on stage had given me a foundation.
But combat sports gave me something different.
I loved the challenge. I loved the nerves. And, apparently, I loved the violence. 😂
I was hooked.
Two years later, it’s great to look back at this and see how far that decision has taken me.
Different sports.
Different rule sets.
Different challenges.
Some wins. Some losses. A lot of lessons.
But every time I’ve stepped up, I’ve given it everything.
Always learning, adapting and trying to find out what I’m capable of.
We’ve come a long way since this video, it’s great to see.

13KG DOWN IN SIX WEEKS — WHILE EATING MORE FOOD.
That’s the part people usually get wrong.
Tim has been to Thailand before.
He’s lost weight before.
But in his own words, he did it by “eating like a rabbit.”
This time, we did things differently.
Over the last six weeks:
13kg down.
Body fat down.
Food progressively UP.
Strength UP.
Fitness UP.
And he achieved it without being able to train anywhere near as much as he originally planned.
Tim was busy with work throughout his time here, so we couldn’t build his life around training.
Instead, we built his training around his life.
We established the non-negotiables.
A clear training structure.
Classes that actually complemented the goal.
Nutrition that fuelled the work rather than starving the weight off.
And accountability to make sure the work got done.
Tim already knew his way around a gym.
He didn’t need another collection of exercises.
He needed structure, direction and someone overseeing the process — pushing him outside his comfort zone when necessary and keeping him accountable when life got busy.
And that’s exactly what he says made the difference.
The biggest win isn’t just the 13kg.
It’s that Tim leaves Thailand stronger, lighter, eating more food and in a far better position to continue progressing when he gets home.
This wasn’t six weeks of punishment to get a temporary result.
It was six weeks spent building a system he can actually continue.
Guidance changes everything.
Amazing work, Tim.
Now we keep building 💪🏻
I CAN’T KICK…
SO WE PUNCH. 🥊
A few months ago, I injured myself fighting MMA, and since then I haven’t been able to kick properly.
But I still wanted to stay active and compete.
So I agreed for short-notice fight under Western boxing rules.
For me, this fight was about the experience. Stepping into a stadium, competing under a different rule set, putting myself outside my comfort zone and feeling those fight-night nerves again.
Because those butterflies in your stomach before a fight are a good thing.
They mean you care.
The reality of combat sports is that you never truly know how you’re going to leave that ring.
All you can control is how well prepared you are when you step into it.
And yesterday, I stepped in confident.
Not because there weren’t nerves — but because I trusted the work.
I trusted the rounds I’ve been putting in, the sparring partners I’ve been working with and, most importantly, the team around me at Tiger.
As a coach, I also believe these experiences matter.
If we’re going to ask our athletes to step into uncomfortable situations, deal with pressure and perform when the nerves are high, then we should understand what that feels like ourselves.
Happy to get an early first round win yesterday.
No injuries - we’re good to go again.
Big thank you to everyone at Tiger who helped me prepare and everyone who came out to support.
We keep learning. We keep challenging ourselves.
And until I can kick again…
I guess we keep punching.
…Or maybe a Jiu-Jitsu competition, we’ll see.
FIGHT NIGHT TOMORROW. 🥊
Short-notice Western boxing fight.
No time to overthink. We’re ready.
Been sparring consistently for the last few months, staying sharp and putting rounds in with some very experienced men.
This one came together quickly — but when you truly believe in the work you’ve put in, when the opportunity comes, you take it.
Final pad work with Matvei.
Feeling fast. Feeling sharp. Ready to get back under the lights.
We go again.
Plenty more of the same!
