The new season is underway and our Kids programme has places for new players.

Ages 7 to 10. Professional coaching on fully covered pitches, so sessions run whatever the weather. And your child won't be alone on day one: they'll have a buddy from their very first session.

Sessions run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 4.30pm to 6.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 10.30am. Come and try a full session free first. No cost, no commitment.

The Fanzone was back last night and it felt like it had never been away.

Parents, friends and colleagues on the pitch, live music beside it, and the academy full of noise on a Thursday night. It has become one of the best evenings of our week, and it belongs to our families.

This is what an academy should feel like. Everyone plays, everyone belongs.

You might notice our coaches ask a lot of questions during sessions. What did you see? Where was the space? What would you try next time?

It would be quicker to just tell them the answer. But quicker isn't the point. When a player works something out for themselves, they own it. It turns up again next week without being asked. That's the difference between copying and learning.

So if your child comes off the pitch full of thoughts rather than instructions, nothing has gone wrong. That's exactly what we're building.

A new Academic and Sports Season starts this month, and with it every EPA player gets a fresh Individual Development Plan.

So what is an IDP? Think of it as a roadmap, not a report card. It has three lines. The focus: one skill or behaviour, chosen with your child. How we measure it: something a coach can see in training. What we're expecting: what it looks like in a real game, written in plain English.

One focus at a time, reviewed monthly, and always visible to you in the EPA Portal.

Over the coming weeks we'll walk through the six areas a focus can come from.
