I had the opportunity to join a study visit focused on Thai textiles, craftsmanship, and community development.
I learned about traditional weaving, natural dyeing, recycled textile materials, and how local wisdom can be transformed into contemporary products with added value through creative design.
What impressed me most was seeing how communities combine traditional knowledge with innovation to create unique products, generate income, and strengthen local pride.
A truly inspiring experience that offers many ideas for developing craft, design, and community-based projects in the future.

Luk Kaew Pattern is a traditional textile motif from Khukhan District, Sisaket Province, Thailand.
Originally found in local handwoven textiles, the pattern emerged from the traditional Sew Pha weaving technique and the rhythmic arrangement of threads, creating shapes that resemble eyes or beads linked together.
In the past, the Luk Kaew motif symbolized:
• Watchfulness 👁️
• Protection 🛡️
• The bonds that connect people within the community 🤝
Today, this heritage pattern continues its journey from traditional weaving into contemporary craft and fashion, carrying the stories and wisdom of Southern Isan into everyday life.
