Coral restoration vibes 🪸💙

On June 18–19, I was lucky to take part in a coral restoration workshop with DMCR — not just as a diver, but as an instructor sharing knowledge with new ocean advocates 🐠✨

We learned how to ID different coral types, mix epoxy glue (messy but fun!), and plant coral fragments on artificial structures to help reefs recover and thrive 🌱

Moments like these remind me why I love diving so much — it’s not just about the beauty under the surface, but about protecting it, too.

Meet the Whale Shark, the gentle titan of the ocean. 🌊 With their striking spotted patterns and calm demeanor, these majestic creatures captivate the hearts of divers and ocean lovers around the world.

Despite their size, Whale Sharks are surprisingly elusive. Swimming alongside one feels like a dream—a rare encounter with a living legend. Each spot on their body is as unique as a fingerprint, a reminder of the individuality of every creature in our oceans.

But this beautiful species is more than just a sight to behold; they play a crucial role in maintaining the health of marine ecosystems. As filter feeders, they help balance plankton levels, ensuring a thriving ocean environment.

Sadly, Whale Sharks face numerous threats, from accidental bycatch to habitat degradation. It’s up to us to protect these oceanic treasures and the ecosystems they support.

Whether you’ve had the chance to see a Whale Shark up close or simply admire them from afar, let’s take a moment to appreciate and advocate for their conservation. Together, we can ensure that these gentle giants continue to roam the oceans for generations to come. 🌍💙
