Erasto Crisanto Valdez disappeared while fishing in a Mexican cenote. After 15 days of unsuccessful searching, specialist cave divers entered the difficult underwater system and eventually heard his voice from inside a dry chamber.

He was alive.

Deep inside the system, past where the daylight is a distant memory, stands the ultimate warning. Mounted permanently to the rough limestone wall is a stark, black and white sign. It features a graphic of the Grim Reaper beckoning and bold, white text that reads: 'STOP. PREVENT YOUR DEATH! GO NO FURTHER.' Faint blue backscatter hints at the powerful dive light illuminating the message, which is encrusted and worn by the ancient, silent environment. The water is crystalline, emphasizing the solemn, alarming clarity of the message. No divers are in frame; the warning stands alone.

Every diver starts with one simple question: “What class should I take next?”

Then the tech divers appear with extra tanks, reels, backup gear—and a suspiciously convincing invitation. 😅🤿
