SSI offers both Wreck Diving and Advanced Wreck training. At Koh Tao Divers, we often recommend Advanced Wreck for divers who meet the prerequisites and want to get more from their training.
Advanced Wreck takes you beyond exploring the exterior of a wreck and introduces you to limited pe*******on and the completely different considerations that come with entering an overhead environment.
This is also where our experience comes into play.
Wrecks, caves, mines and overhead environments are a big part of what we do. Our instructors bring real-world experience from diving, exploration and expeditions into the way we teach.
For us, it’s not about collecting another certification. It’s about building real skills, better awareness and a strong foundation that you can continue developing as a diver.

Some of Koh Tao’s best dive sites, including Chumphon Pinnacle and Southwest Pinnacle, where you’ll find dramatic underwater landscapes, huge schools of fish, and the chance to encounter larger pelagic species.
After your Open Water course, your maximum depth is 18 metres, and after Advance Open Water Course 30m.
With the SSI Deep Diving specialty, you can safely extend your limit to 40 metres while learning the skills needed to dive deeper with confidence.
During the course you’ll learn how to:
• Plan deep dives
• Manage your gas efficiently
• Understand the effects of depth, including nitrogen narcosis
• Dive safely to 40 metres.
Not ready for the full specialty yet?
You can experience deep diving as one of the Adventure Dives in the SSI Advanced Open Water Course. If you later decide to complete the SSI Deep Diving specialty, that training can count towards your Deep Diving specialty certification.
