There is a stillness to Phang Nga Bay when you meet it slowly. Beneath James Bond Island, the limestone rises straight from calm water, and there's time to wander, take a photo, and simply take it in — no rush to the next stop.

A gentle, unhurried way to see one of Thailand's most beautiful bays.

There's something reassuring about a place that's allowed to rest. Each August and September, Maya Bay closes so its ecosystem can recover — and it's a pause we're glad to see.

During these months, we visit Bamboo Island in its place: soft sand, clear water, and a quiet beach to enjoy at an easy pace.

The rest of the day stays just as it is. Nature first, always — even when that means giving a beautiful place the space to heal.

Some places are worth waking up early for.

Maya Bay and the Phi Phi Islands are among Thailand’s most iconic destinations and the experience feels even more special when you arrive before the crowds.

With Simba Sea Trips, enjoy a small-group journey across the Andaman Sea to explore the beauty of Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon and the surrounding Phi Phi Islands.

Discover Phi Phi the Simba way.

A gentle day on the water begins with a little care.
Even on a shared trip, our small groups keep the boat calm and unhurried. On a private trip, we slow the day to your pace, with the route and timing shaped softly around you.

A few simple things to bring:

• Your passport number (the actual passport can stay at your hotel)
• Some cash and a card — for local markets and small treats
• A towel from your accommodation (a few are onboard)
• Light shoes — sandals or flip-flops
• Reef-safe sunscreen with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Marine parks now ask for it, to protect the coral and marine life. Please avoid oxybenzone and octinoxate.
• A camera (waterproof bags are onboard)
• A reusable water bottle — we provide plenty of iced water and use no single-use plastic

Bring little, tread lightly, and let the sea set the pace.

There is a hush to Pileh Lagoon.

The cliffs curve all the way around, the water sits warm and still, and everything softens the moment you slip in.

We move slowly here — a gentle swim, a slow drift, and time to simply notice where you are. Nature, met at its own pace.

On a Simba boat, the ocean is the view — panoramic, open, and all around you the whole way out.

Open decks, calm water, and small groups of up to 18 mean there's always room to sit back and take it in. No windows in the way, no crowds — just the bay opening up in front of you.

Small kindnesses, out on quiet water.

A hand as you step down. A photo taken while you look the other way. Someone who knows where the bay stays calm.

Nothing rushed. Nothing loud. Just people looking after people, slowly.

Carried slowly along the foot of the cliffs, with nothing to do but look.

No paddling, no engine — only a gentle glide beneath the limestone of Hong Island, close enough to see the texture of the rock and the green hanging from it. The water stays still. The pace stays soft.

This is how we move through Phang Nga Bay: quietly, slowly, leaving it as we found it.

Float, and let the reef be.

First thing, the water is soft and clear, and the fish move without minding you.

We keep to small numbers and a slow pace, so the reef stays calm. Look gently, touch nothing, leave only ripples.
