A weekly 5km, timed Park Run in Mbabane. People of every ability are welcome- from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians. All welcome!!

The run starts at the Mbabane Club field and takes us through the scenic Mbabane golf course route.

Calisile Mthethwa – 50th volunteer duty completed at parkrun (V RED)

Calisile Mthethwa completed her 50th volunteer duty on 4th July 2026 at Mbabane parkrun, covering such roles as Pacer; parkwalker; Post-event Close Down; Tail Walker and Token Sorting. The roles that Calisile Mthethwa has performed most often is Post-event Close Down which she has performed on 33 separate occasions.

Calisile Mthethwa has also completed 123 parkruns across the following locations: Mbabane parkrun (118); Manzini parkrun (2); and Dlinza Forest parkrun in Eshowe (3).

Calisile Mthethwa began her parkrun journey at Mbabane parkrun on 16 July 2022 and set times of 28:20 and finished in 21st place on the day. Since then Calisile Mthethwa has been able to set new personal best time on 13 separate occasions and her current personal best time is a 22:52 which she set on 10 August 2024 at Mbabane parkrun.

Running challenges that Calisile Mthethwa has completed during her parkrun journey include:

Doreen Anderson completed her 25th volunteer duty on 4th July 2026 at Mbabane parkrun, covering such roles as Barcode Scanning; Finish Token Support; Funnel Manager; Pacer; parkwalker; Post-event Close Down; Tail Walker and Timekeeper. The roles that Doreen Anderson has performed most often is Timekeeper which she has performed on 13 separate occasions.

Doreen Anderson has also completed 21 parkruns, all being at Mbabane parkrun.
Doreen Anderson began her parkrun journey at Mbabane parkrun on 13 September 2025 and set times of 44:15 and finished in 80th place on the day.

Running challenges that Doreen Anderson has completed during her parkrun journey include:

Milestones achieved today

Mancoba Magagula – 10th parkrun completed as a junior (going WHITE)
Mancoba Magagula completed his 10th parkrun on 4th July 2026 at Mbabane parkrun, having completed his 10 parkruns at Mbabane parkrun.

Mancoba Magagula started his parkrun journey on 25 April 2026 at Mbabane parkrun when he set a time of 25:36 and finished in 14th position on the day. Since then he has been able to set a new personal best time on 4 separate occasions and his current personal best time is a 23:44 which he set on 13 June 2026 at Mbabane parkrun.

Congratulations Mancoba Magagula on your achievement and thank you for all that you do for Mbabane parkrun. We look forward to park running and volunteering with you in the future.

Mbabane parkrun Event number 375 on 4 July 2026
Men’s run
At today’s event the first parkrunner to cross the finish line was Samkeliso Simelane who completed his 46th parkrun in a time of 18:04, which is only 45 seconds off his all time personal best time. Following on his shoulder was the ever improving Jama N Dlamini who clocked a 18:05, which is a new personal best time for him, to claim the 2nd place on his 84th parkrun. Right on Jama’s shoulder was our 3rd placed finisher, Phila C Phiri who completed his 92nd parkrun in a time of 18:06, which is only 12 seconds off his all tome personal best time. Our 4th placed finisher was an unknown participant so no time or details re available. Our 5th place finisher was Lettice Mdluli who completed the course in 18:06, which is a new personal best time for him.
Well done to all who completed the course.

Ladies’ run
Our first lady home this weekend was Minenhle “Jumbo Jet” Mnguni who completed her 51st parkrun in a time of 22:31, which was 6 seconds quicker than the time she recorded last weekend. Following her home as the 2nd lady home was Samkelisiwe Tfwala who on her 3rd parkrun posted a time of 22:48. Our 3rd lady home was Nkosepgayo Mthethwa who on her 67th parkrun set a time of 22:58, which is a new personal best time for her. Our 4th lady to cross the finish line was Siyanda Mbuli who on her 21st parkrun set a time of 25:39, which is only 39 seconds off her all time personal best time. Rounding out the top 5 in the lady’s section was Katu Manyisa who on her 70th parkrun set a time of 26:45.
Well done to all who completed the course.

Mbabane parkrun Event number 375 on 4 July 2026

Early in the morning our course checker was out checking the condition of the course and it was found to be in good condition. Thank you to Chris Morgan, Shauneen and Even Nurcombe-Thorne for taking care of the course check.

We had 95 brave park runners who braved the cold weather and arrived and ran, jogged, walked their way around the course today. This was made up of 43 ladies, 35 men and 17 unknown participants (unregistered park runners) of participants that did not have their barcodes with them.

Please register for parkrun and remember to bring your barcode so that you can start to record and track your parkrun’s. If you need assistance registering, please speak to one of our team of volunteers who will gladly assist you with your registration. If you need assistance with registering for parkrun, please visit Devin Bauermeister at Apollo Printers in Mbabane and he will assist you with your registration.

At today’s event the gentleman and lady participant who had completed the most parkuns were:
• Shauneen Nurcombe-Thorne – 143 parkruns completed and 26 volunteer duty completed.
• Devin Bauermeister – 215 parkruns completed and 215 volunteer duties completed.

Our first finishers at today’s event were:
• First lady home ~ Minenhle “Jumbo Jet” Mnguni – 22:31 (overall – 22nd )
• First male home ~ Samkeliso Simelane – 18:04 (overall 1st )
