Future Stars Football Academy Congratulates Alumni on Jamus SC's Historic CECAFA Kagame Cup Semi-Final Qualification

JUBA, South Sudan – Future Stars Football Academy (FSFA) proudly congratulates its alumni Mario Taban, Joseph Malish, and Samuel Taban following Jamus SC's historic qualification for the semi-finals of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda.

Academy graduate Mario Taban once again delivered on the big stage, coming off the bench to score the crucial equaliser in Jamus SC's 2-1 comeback victory over Mogadishu City Club in group B. His goal paved the way for the winning strike that sent the South Sudan Premier League runners-up into the last four of the regional competition for the first time in the club's history.

Fellow FSFA graduate Joseph Malish was named among the substitutes for the historic encounter, while Samuel Taban, another academy alumnus, continues his recovery and rehabilitation in Cairo, Egypt, after sustaining an injury earlier this year.

The academy is immensely proud to see its graduates contributing to one of the greatest achievements in Jamus SC's history. Their journeys reflect the values of hard work, discipline, resilience, and commitment instilled at Future Stars Football Academy.

FSFA Alumni Mario Taban Fires Jamus SC into Historic CECAFA Kagame Cup Semi-Finals

Juba, South Sudan – Future Stars Football Academy (FSFA) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of academy graduate Mario Taban, whose crucial goal helped Jamus SC secure a historic place in the semi-finals of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda.

The talented attacking midfielder came off the bench to score the vital equaliser in the 54th minute as Jamus SC fought back from a goal down to defeat Mogadishu City Club 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

Jamus had trailed after an own goal by Thomas Eta in the 40th minute before Mario restored parity, allowing Laurent Ramazani to score the winning goal in the 68th minute and send the South Sudanese side into the last four for the first time in the club's history.

The strike was Mario's second goal of the tournament, having opened his account with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+5th minute during Jamus SC's 2-0 victory over defending champions Singida Black Stars in their Group B opener at Pele Stadium.

Mario's performances continue to demonstrate the impact of Future Stars Football Academy in developing talented young footballers capable of competing and excelling on the biggest stages.

His journey from the academy to winning domestic honours, representing South Sudan, and now helping Jamus SC make regional history serves as a powerful inspiration to every young player with dreams of playing at the highest level.

FSFA Graduate Benson Joseph Makes Official El Merriekh SC Debut in Pre-Season Victory

JUBA, South Sudan – Future Stars Football Academy (FSFA) is proud to celebrate another major milestone as academy graduate Benson Joseph made his official debut for El Merriekh SC Bentiu during the club's pre-season training camp in Uganda.

The talented young goalkeeper was handed his first appearance by head coach Claude Loboko, coming on as a second-half substitute for Allambatan Gabin in El Merriekh SC Bentiu's 2-1 victory over Uganda Premier League side Entebbe UPPC FC on Thursday.

Benson's debut marks another significant step in his football journey after graduating from Future Stars Football Academy and earning a move to the reigning South Sudan Premier League and South Sudan Cup champions.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu are currently holding their pre-season camp in Uganda as they prepare for the 2026/27 campaign, which includes the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds and the defence of their domestic league and cup titles.

FSFA Graduate Ajo Minari Makes Strong Start to Life at El Merriekh SC Bentiu

JUBA, South Sudan – Future Stars Football Academy is proud to celebrate another milestone in the journey of its graduate Ajo Minari, who has made his first appearances for El Merriekh SC Bentiu during the club's pre-season training camp in Uganda.

The promising young midfielder made his unofficial debut on 27 July, coming on as a second-half substitute for Sampi Ousmane in El Merriekh SC Bentiu's commanding 5-0 victory over Kibuli United FC at the Nysabia Youth Centre.

Minari was again introduced from the bench in the second half during El Merriekh SC Bentiu's latest pre-season friendly, helping the South Sudan Premier League champions secure a 2-1 comeback victory over Lukuli Hearts FC.

The consecutive appearances mark an encouraging start for the talented midfielder as he continues to adapt to life with one of South Sudan's top clubs ahead of the new season.

The promising attacker completed his move to Mayo FC on the final day of the transfer window after the club and the academy reached a mutual understanding over the player’s next step in his football career.

Khamis John, who has been part of the Future Stars Football Academy U20 setup, has impressed with his development, commitment, and attacking qualities, earning the opportunity to continue his progress with a competitive senior club environment.

JUBA, South Sudan – Future Stars Football Academy Technical Director Coach Bilal Felix has expressed his appreciation to the football fraternity after academy graduate Lazarus Peter Laku completed a landmark move to Swedish top-flight club IFK Göteborg on a five-year professional contract.

Felix described Lazarus’ achievement as a proud moment for Future Stars Football Academy and a reward for the dedication, sacrifice and commitment of everyone who has contributed to the academy’s growth.

In his message of appreciation, Felix thanked Almighty God for guidance, protection and strength throughout the academy’s journey, while recognising the efforts of the academy leadership, coaches, medical team, support staff, media officers, players and supporters.

"My sincere appreciation goes to the International Managing Director Ladole Lo-Sara, Managing Director Mr. Sam Dante, our families, Lazarus, all coaches, medical officers, support staff, media officers, players and the incredible fans of Future Stars Football Academy. Your sacrifice, commitment and belief in our vision continue to drive this academy forward,” Felix said.

The message came shortly after Lazarus Peter Laku, a product of Future Stars Football Academy and a South Sudan senior national team forward, signed a five-year deal with IFK Göteborg, becoming one of the latest success stories from the academy’s player development system.

The Swedish club described the 18-year-old winger as a long-term investment, with IFK Göteborg scouting manager David Vukovic praising Lazarus’ attacking qualities, technique, finishing ability and potential for further development.

Felix said Lazarus’ move reflects the importance of patience, discipline and trust in the football development process, while encouraging young players to remain focused on their long-term goals.

"Never allow temporary opinions to destroy your permanent future. Great careers are built on patience, hard work, loyalty and trust in the development process—not on rumours or false promises,” he said.

The Future Stars Technical Director acknowledged that the academy has faced challenges throughout its journey but said those experiences have strengthened its determination to build an institution based on discipline, integrity and sustainable player development.

"Future Stars Football Academy remains committed to producing not only outstanding footballers but also responsible leaders with character, discipline and excellence,” Felix added.

Future Stars Academy Graduate Lazarus Peter Laku Signs Five-Year Deal with IFK Göteborg

JUBA - Future Stars Football Academy is delighted to congratulate academy graduate and South Sudan senior national team forward Lazarus Peter Laku on signing a five-year professional contract with Swedish top-flight club IFK Göteborg.

The 18-year-old winger completed his move after the Swedish club officially announced his signing on its website, describing him as one of the club's exciting long-term investments.

"Now everything is signed and ready. Peter Lazarus is a Blåvitt player and has signed a five-year contract. A vicious and irrational player with a clear offensive X-factor," said IFK Göteborg Scouting Manager David Vukovic.

Lazarus has visited the club's Kamratgården training facility on several occasions over the past few years, giving him the opportunity to adapt to the environment and Swedish football before completing his transfer.

A product of Future Stars Football Academy, Lazarus has developed into one of South Sudan's brightest young talents and has already earned recognition with the senior national team.

Vukovic praised the youngster's versatility and attacking qualities.

"Lazarus can play on both larger and smaller surfaces and has the ability to create more time for himself through his technique. He is also a skilled finisher with both feet and has an excellent eye for goal. This is a long-term recruitment, and Peter will be part of our top group, where he will be able to move between different training and match environments," he said.
