6️⃣1️⃣ personnel from the Somali National Army, Somali Police Force & Sector 2 participated in Human Rights Due Diligence Policy sensitization sessions focused on:
🔵Strengthening implementation of HRDDP requirements
🔵Reinforcing accountability & mitigation measures
🔵Ensuring adherence to international human rights, humanitarian, and refugee law
🔵Emphasising that support is conditional on full respect for international legal standards
These sessions aim to enhance awareness, strengthen compliance & reinforce the responsible use of UN non-lethal logistical support.

🇪🇺🇸🇴🇺🇳 Yesterday in Mogadishu, the European External Action Service - EEAS and the European Commission's Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) delegation met the United Nations Support Office in Somalia - UNSOS for a strategic briefing session on the UN Mission’s operations & non-lethal logistical support to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia-AUSSOM .
Discussions focused on EU–UNSOS coordination, identifying opportunities for synergies & ensuring complementarity to maximise impact in support of Somalia’s security transition.

brought together 3️⃣2️⃣ personnel from African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia-AUSSOM, , Arima Aviation Services, a local aviation company & World Food Programme Somalia for a week-long ALO course, followed by On-the-Job Training to put newly acquired skills into practice, as part of the UNSOS Sustainable Programme for .

Acting ASG and Head of United Nations Support Office in Somalia - UNSOS, Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain Sadozai, met with Djibouti’s Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Osman Doubad Sougouleh, to discuss support for African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia-AUSSOM and Somalia’s security transition.
Ms. Sadozai commended Djibouti’s longstanding contribution to peace and security in Somalia and expressed appreciation to Djiboutian troops serving under African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia-AUSSOM for their dedication and sacrifice. She reaffirmed ’ commitment to supporting AUSSOM and the Somali Security Forces (SSF).
Discussions focused on AUSSOM’s mandate, support to the SSF, ongoing mission reconfiguration efforts, and the need for predictable and sustainable funding to preserve security gains and advance Somalia’s transition. Ms. Sadozai also underscored the importance of strong African Union – United Nations cooperation and continued partnership with Troop-Contributing Countries (TCCs).
