Mr. AIAH EMMANUEL GBORIE

Mr. Aiah Emmanuel Gborie is a Sierra Leonean agripreneur, agricultural innovator, and youth development leader from Kono District whose work focuses on transforming agriculture through innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth participation.

He is the Founder and CEO of Yormatah Company Limited and Founder of the Yormatah Youth Farmers Association, where he leads agricultural initiatives in climate-smart farming, poultry production, hatchery innovation, local animal-feed processing, irrigation, seed development, and farmer empowerment.

Through his agricultural initiatives, Aiah has supported hundreds of young people and farmers with training, improved farming technologies, market access, and agribusiness development. His work contributes to employment creation, food production, and sustainable agricultural development in Kono District.

His contributions have also received national and international recognition. These include the Presidential Master Farmer Award 2025 and his participation in the World Bank Solutions for Youth Employment (S4YE) Youth Advisory Group from 2024 to date. He has also represented Sierra Leone at COP28 and other international agriculture and development platforms.

Aiah remains committed to advancing youth-led agricultural innovation, food security, climate-smart agriculture, agribusiness, and sustainable rural development in Sierra Leone.

Mr Alie A. Bahsoon is an agricultural professional, cooperative leader, engineer, business executive, and community-development advocate with experience in agriculture, construction, project management, sustainable development, and community infrastructure. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (General Options) from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, and is a member of the Sierra Leone School of Agriculture and Food Science with the rank of Agricultural Engineer.

He currently serves as Chairman of Salmed Cocoa and Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative in Kono District, providing leadership and representation to approximately 2,000 cocoa and coffee farmers. His work focuses on farmer development, sustainability, infrastructure, market access, organic cocoa production, farm traceability, geolocation mapping, and readiness for international certification and markets.

Alie A. Bahsoon has also served as Managing Director/Engineer of Ahmed Construction and Maintenance Company (ACMC), with experience in construction management, engineering supervision, project planning, procurement, building projects, and infrastructure development.

Sahr Mormakoe Yambasu is a distinguished Community Development Educationist and servant leader from Komboma, Kamaa Section, Gbane Chiefdom, Kono District.

He is the Founder and National Director of Community Aid Network Sierra Leone, Proprietor of the Kono District Education Committee Primary School, and a founding member and current Dean of Campus for Transit College Kono District Campus.

Throughout his career, Mr. Yambasu has held several important leadership positions, including Base Manager for World Vision Kono, Regional Manager for Christian Aid Sierra Leone, Regional Manager for the Sustainable Nutrition and Agricultural Programme, and Country Director for Children of the Nations Sierra Leone.

He has also served as Mid-Term Census District Coordinator for Kono and currently serves in several leadership and community-development capacities, including National Trainer for the Sierra Leone Teaching Service Commission, District Secretary of the United Methodist Church Kono District, Town Chief of Komboma, Lead Consultant of Eclipse Global Consults, and Programme Director for Knowledge for Community Empowerment Programme Organization (KoCEPO).

His record of service has earned him several recognitions, including Best 2006 ADP Manager, Best 2007 Annual Programme Report Writer, and Best 2009 Base Manager.

Through his longstanding commitment to education, rural development, leadership, and community empowerment, Sahr Mormakoe Yambasu continues to contribute to the advancement of communities across Kono District.

Tamba Sossah is an educator, academic leader, entrepreneur, filmmaker, music director, and youth development advocate whose work has contributed to education, entertainment, and talent development in Kono District and beyond.

He currently serves as Principal of Gbense High School, Koeyor, and has also served as a Lecturer and Dean of Students at Hamile College. His commitment to education has enabled him to teach, mentor, and support students, including providing assistance to young people pursuing college and university education.

Beyond the classroom, Tamba is the Founder and CEO of Potters Multimedia Empire. His leadership experience includes serving as Former Secretary General of KONSU, Njala University Bo Campus, Former Assistant Secretary General of the Directors Guild Southern Province, Manager of Soccer Lions Football Club, Music Director, Film Director, and Manager of Limit Breakers Music Ministry.

His creative achievements include coaching and producing Sia Comfort Nyukeh, winner of Sierra Leone Next Movie Star, and coaching Queen Nash, who reached the semifinal stage of the first season of Big Sister Reality TV. He has also contributed significantly to gospel music development through free outdoor worship concerts and inter-district music tours.

For the past five years, he has supported and organized the Worship and Restoration Night, bringing together gospel ministers from different parts of Sierra Leone.

Through education, mentorship, student support, creative arts, and youth development, Tamba Sossah continues to invest in the growth and advancement of young people.

JULIUS GOBA

Julius Goba is an educator, school administrator and teachers’ union leader whose years of service have contributed to the advancement of education in Kono District.

Born in Moyamba District, he attended St. Michael’s Secondary School and St. Edward’s Secondary School before pursuing and obtaining a degree in Education from Eastern Technical University (ETU).

His professional journey in Kono District began in 2012, when he joined Yengema Secondary School (YSS) as a teacher. After three years of service, he moved to Koidu City and continued his educational career at Ansarul Islamic Boys Secondary School.

Through professional development, classroom experience and educational leadership, Julius Goba has progressed to become the Principal of Ansarul Islamic Boys Senior Secondary School.

Beyond school administration, he currently serves as District Secretary of the Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU), Kono District, contributing to the representation and advancement of teachers within the district.

His recognition in the Education Category of the 3rd Edition of the Kono District Top 40 Most Prestigious Male Awards celebrates his commitment to teaching, educational leadership, school administration and the development of the teaching profession in Kono District.
