Pribina Cup 2026 – Day 9 (April 11)

Saturday delivered a superb final competition day, with sunshine, strong racing weather and a fitting finish to the event. All gliders were in the air by midday, and by the end of the afternoon every pilot was safely back on the ground after the last tasks of Pribina Cup 2026. It was exactly the kind of last day organisers and pilots hope for: fast racing, good spirits and a clean close to the competition.

Club Class flew a 301.44 km Racing Task and finished the contest in style. Michal Lesinger (LL) won the day in the ASW-20 with 906 points at 109.02 km/h, ahead of Mateusz Kruszynski (TF) on 898 and Christoph Spath (I) on 760. That also confirmed the final overall podium, with Lesinger taking the Club title on 5,412 points, Kruszynski 2nd on 5,300 and Spath 3rd on 4,628.

15m Class had a 339.98 km Racing Task and another strong Czech finish. Karel Novak (AX) won the day with 896 points after averaging 124.04 km/h, while Jan Pavlik (JW) took 2nd on 829 and Jana Treslova (C6) shared 3rd on 806 with Miloslav Cink (JB). In the final overall standings, Pavlik kept the class win with 5,099 points, Cink finished 2nd on 4,991 and Novak completed the podium on 4,938.

Open Class closed with the biggest task of the day, a 383.40 km Racing Task, and it also produced the biggest late change in the overall standings. Janowitsch & Schwan (13) won the day in the Arcus M with 931 points at 129.42 km/h, ahead of Pavel Jiranek (CS) on 864 and Petr Krejcirik (ZE) on 813. That day win was enough to lift the Austrian crew to the overall Open title on 4,924 points, pushing Tomas Rendla (EZ) to 2nd on 4,880, while Alena Netusilova (A7) completed the final podium on 4,801.

Pribina Cup 2026 – Day 8 (April 10)

Friday did not look promising from the ground, and the forecast was doubtful enough that there was no grid before briefing. But once the gliders launched, the day turned into a very pleasant surprise. Organisers set shorter 2 hour Assigned Area Tasks, with Club and 15m sharing a 132-250 km range around Morovno, Valaska and Tlmače, while Open had a 169-336 km range around Turčianske Teplice, Elektra and Tekovský Hrádok. In the end the weather worked much better than expected, pilots reported a lot of fun, and all gliders were safely back on the ground by late afternoon. The planned farewell party then gave pilots a chance to share the good feelings and memories from the whole competition.

Club Class flew the shorter 2 hour AAT and saw Michal Lesinger (LL) take the day win in the ASW-20 with the full 678 points after covering 212.38 km at 96.79 km/h. Mateusz Kruszynski (TF) finished 2nd on 625 points and Christoph Spath (I) took 3rd with 540. Overall, Lesinger stays in front with 4,506 points, extending his margin over Kruszynski to 104 points, while Spath moves up to 3rd overall on 3,868.

15m Class used the same 2 hour AAT and produced another close Czech result. Karel Novak (AX) won the day with the maximum 562 points after flying 228.14 km at 112.65 km/h. Miloslav Cink (JB) placed 2nd on 472 points and Jan Pavlik (JW) 3rd on 469. Overall, Pavlik remains in the lead on 4,270 points, with Cink on 4,185 and Novak now closing in from 3rd on 4,042.

Open Class also flew a 2 hour AAT and made the most of the better-than-expected conditions. The Finnish crew of Kettunen & Tourula (AM) won the day in the Arcus with 528 points after covering 240.35 km at 118.33 km/h. Home pilot Vladimir Foltin (3) took 2nd on 515 points and Pavel Jiranek (CS) placed 3rd with 505. Overall leader Tomas Rendla (EZ) remains on top with 4,092 points, while Alena Netusilova (A7) stays 2nd on 4,036 and Janowitsch & Schwan (13) 3rd on 3,993.

Pribina Cup 2026 – Day 7 (April 9 )

Thursday brought a longer and more demanding racing day, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions, temperatures around 10 to 15 C, and a moderate north to northwest wind with stronger gusts. Organisers set 3 hour Assigned Area Tasks for all classes, with the Club and 15m classes sharing a 220-453 km range while Open Class had the biggest playground at 265-508 km.

Club Class flew a 3 hour AAT and saw Mateusz Kruszyński (TF) take another day win in the SZD-55 Promyk with 893 points after covering 291.10 km at 97.03 km/h. Michal Lešinger (LL) followed closely on 877 points and Felix Kries (K) took 3rd with 801. Overall, Lešinger still leads the class on 3,828 points, but Kruszyński has cut the gap to just 51 points, with Kries holding 3rd on 3,459.

15m Class used the same 3 hour AAT and produced another strong Czech showing. Jan Pavlík (JW) won the day with the full 1,000 points after flying 351.35 km at 116.51 km/h. Karel Novák (AX) took 2nd on 940 points, while Miloslav Cink (JB) finished 3rd with 930. Overall, Pavlík extends his lead to 3,801 points, with Cink 2nd on 3,713 and Novák 3rd on 3,480.

Open Class flew the largest task of the day, a 3 hour AAT with a 265-508 km range, and produced a strong Czech performance. Petr Krejčiřík (ZE) won in the JS-MD 3 jet with 912 points after covering 399.71 km at 124.78 km/h. Alena Netušilová (A7) took 2nd with 901, while the Polish crew of Czeladzki & Jaskiewicz (ZAR) placed 3rd on 835. Overall leader Tomáš Rendla (EZ) finished 4th on the day but stays in front with 3,623 points. Netušilová moves up to 2nd overall on 3,571, just 6 points ahead of Janowitsch & Schwan on 3,565.

Pribina Cup 2026 – Day 6 (April 8 )

Wednesday delivered another successful competition day under mostly sunny skies, with only a few cumulus clouds and a cloud base around 2000m QNH. The north wind remained quite strong, but conditions were still good enough for another full day of racing.

Club Class flew a 2 hour 30 minute Assigned Area Task over a 160-375 km range, shared with the 15m class. Mateusz Kruszyński (TF) won the day in the SZD-55 Promyk with the full 800 points, flying 268.42 km at 107.37 km/h. Felix Kries (K) took 2nd on 785 points and Christoph Spath (I) 3rd on 696, while overall leader Michal Lešinger (LL) placed 4th with 645. Even so, Lešinger stays on top overall with 2,951 points, just 67 ahead of Kruszyński, with Kries 3rd on 2,658.

15m Class used the same 2 hour 30 minute AAT and again saw Jan Pavlík (JW) and Miloslav Cink (JB) flying as an effective team. Cink took the day win with 812 points after covering 294.98 km at 116.57 km/h, with Pavlík close behind on 806, underlining how well their cooperation worked. Karel Novák (AX) placed 3rd with 775 points. Overall, Pavlík still leads on 2,801 points, Cink follows on 2,783, and Novák remains 3rd on 2,540.

Open Class had the larger task area of the day, a 2 hour 30 minute Assigned Area Task ranging from 216 to 398 km. Home pilot Vladimír Foltín (3) took the day win in the JS3 18m with 796 points after covering 350.12 km at 131.68 km/h. Alena Netušilová (A7) finished 2nd on 762, and overall leader Tomáš Rendla (EZ) took 3rd on 761. Rendla continues to lead the competition overall with 2,794 points, but Janowitsch & Schwan remain within reach on 2,751, while Netušilová climbs to 3rd overall with 2,666.

Pribina Cup 2026 – Day 5 (April 7)

Tuesday delivered another valid competition day with blue thermals and ridge flying, matching the morning forecast. Launching was planned for 12:00, then delayed once before the start procedure began at 12:30. Tows went toward Zobor hill to connect pilots with the northwest ridge, and by late afternoon all gliders were safely back on the ground.

Club Class flew a 2 hour 30 minute Assigned Area Task over the same 137-396 km setup as 15m. Christoph Spath (I) won the day in the LS-1f w with 800 points (230.36 km, 92.14 km/h), ahead of Michal Lešinger (LL) on 777 and Mateusz Kruszyński (TF) on 767. Overall, Lešinger remains clear leader on 2,306 points, 222 ahead of Kruszyński, with Felix Kries (K) 3rd on 1,873.

15m Class used the same 2 hour 30 minute AAT and again produced close racing. Jan Pavlík (JW) won with 799 points in the LS-8 (280.49 km, 112.20 km/h), just ahead of Jana Treslová (C6) on 793 and Miloslav Cink (JB) on 783. In the overall standings, Pavlík has extended his lead to 24 points over Cink, 1,995 to 1,971, with Novák 3rd on 1,765.

Open Class had the biggest area of the day, with a 181-440 km Assigned Area Task and a very tight finish at the top. Bogdan Dorozko (29L) and Janowitsch & Schwan (13) both scored the maximum 727 points. Pavel Jiránek (CS) was 3rd on 714. Overall leader Tomáš Rendla (EZ) stays in front on 2,033 points, but only 6 ahead of Janowitsch & Schwan on 2,027.
