We’re proud to have accompanied the Ionis 39 Gorilla sailing team and our client — and now friend — Karlis Balgalvis on an exciting yet demanding adventure: the Silverrudder - Challenge of the Sea.
This singlehanded race around the island of Fyn (Denmark) truly lives up to its name — unpredictable weather, strong currents, and more than 400 solo sailors facing the elements with no rest and no crew to rely on. It’s a real test of seamanship, endurance, and precision.
Working with Karlis has been a real pleasure from day one. Despite the kilometers between Italy and Latvia, collaboration has been effortless. From his very first email, his passion, precision, and determination to sail — and to do things properly — were clear. He shared every measurement, every feedback, every detail that helped us deliver the best possible sails for Gorilla.
