🏐 Development doesn’t happen on the training court alone.

Every pass, every decision, every mistake, and every success in a real match helps young players become better netballers.
That’s why we organise events like the SGNA All Stars Netball Carnival.

For many of our players, especially those who don’t have the opportunity to represent a school team, these carnivals provide invaluable match experience. They learn how to play under pressure, communicate with teammates, adapt to different opponents, understand game tactics, and most importantly, gain confidence.

It was fantastic to watch the players grow throughout the carnival. Game after game, their movement improved, their decision-making became quicker, and their confidence with the ball increased. That’s what player development is all about.

At SGNA, we believe that every player deserves opportunities to play, compete, learn, and enjoy the game, regardless of where they attend school.

A huge thank you to Charmaine Netball Academy, Ignite Netball Academy, and Young Muslima Netball Academy for helping create a competitive, supportive, and enjoyable environment for all the players.

🏐 Respect the Umpires. Respect the Game.

As we enjoy many upcoming carnivals and leagues, here’s a friendly reminder to everyone on the sidelines.

Umpires are an essential part of our sport. They make countless decisions during every game, often in a split second, so our players can compete in a safe and fair environment.

Not every decision will go your way, and that’s part of the game. Let’s lead by example by showing respect, encouragement, and good sportsmanship at all times.

SGNA All Stars Netball Carnival – 5 July 2026

On Sunday, 5 July 2026, Singapore Netball Academy proudly hosted the SGNA All Stars Netball Carnival at the OCBC Arena.

We were delighted to welcome three visiting academies, Charmaine Netball Academy, Ignite Netball Academy, and Young Muslima Netball Academy, to compete alongside our SGNA All Stars teams in the U8, U10, and U12 age categories.

SGNA entered five All Stars teams, made up of players who do not have the opportunity to play netball in school. This carnival was created especially to give these players valuable match experience, allowing them to apply their training in real game situations, build confidence, and enjoy the excitement of competitive netball.

The carnival was played in a fun, positive, and supportive atmosphere, with many parents cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines throughout the morning. The standard of play was impressive, and it was especially encouraging to see every team and player improve with each game as they gained confidence and experience.

A heartfelt thank you to Charmaine Netball Academy, Ignite Netball Academy, and Young Muslima Netball Academy for joining us and helping make the event such an enjoyable and successful day for all players. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for future SGNA carnivals.

On Thursday, 2 July, we officially kicked off Term 3 with more than 700 players, aged 5 to 16, returning to the courts after the school holidays.

With an exciting calendar of leagues, carnivals, and competitions coming up throughout Terms 3 and 4, it is great to see everyone back training, rebuilding their rhythm, and preparing for the months ahead.

This video captures just a small glimpse of the many classes taking place at Methodist Girls’ School, where the courts were once again filled with energy, smiles, and plenty of netball.

We are also delighted to welcome many new trial players, who will discover over the coming weekend what Singapore Netball Academy is all about. We hope they enjoy the experience and become part of our growing netball family.

This first weekend is all about easing back into training. After the holiday break, our focus is on helping players regain their fitness, sharpen their skills, and get back into the flow of the game before the busy competition season begins.

On 11 May 2019, Singapore Netball Academy proudly hosted the SGNA U12 Quad Series at Methodist Girls’ School. Participating clubs included Centaurs, Sport Ready, ANZA, and SGNA.

Each team competed in four full matches, including the finals, with games consisting of four 10-minute quarters. Playing four full matches in a single day was a demanding challenge that tested every team’s fitness, resilience, and determination.

The competition was closely contested, with all teams demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and a high standard of netball throughout the day. SGNA’s players delivered outstanding performances, showing consistency, teamwork, and determination from the first whistle to the final.

Their hard work was rewarded as SGNA emerged champions in both the U11 and U12 divisions, making it another memorable achievement and a proud milestone in the academy’s successful 2019 season.

🏐 Where Training Becomes Real Netball 🏐

Learning netball doesn’t stop at training.

The biggest improvement happens when players step onto the court and experience real games.

The SGNA U9 & U10 Development League 2026 has been specially designed to bridge the gap between training and competition in a fun, supportive, and development-focused environment.

Over several weeks, players will:
✨ Learn how to apply their skills in real match situations
✨ Improve game awareness and decision-making
✨ Build confidence under pressure
✨ Experience teamwork, positioning, and match play
✨ Enjoy meaningful game time with players of similar age and ability

At SGNA, we believe that every great netball player develops through regular competition. This league is an important step in our long-term player development pathway and prepares players for future school competitions, external carnivals, and higher-level leagues.

Swifts Netball Challenge – 7 September 2019 – Champions C Division

On 7 September 2019, Swift Netball Club organised the Swifts Netball Challenge at Kallang Netball Centre. Singapore Netball Academy participated with three teams in the C Division and two teams in the B Division.

The C Division competition took place in the morning, followed by the B Division matches in the afternoon. Throughout the day, players had to compete in Singapore’s hot and humid conditions, showing determination, resilience, and commitment on every court.

Despite the challenging weather, our players persevered and delivered outstanding performances. Their hard work was rewarded when one of our SGNA teams emerged as C Division Champions.

This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication of our players and coaches and has earned a proud place in the Singapore Netball Academy Book of Fame.
