🏐 Pesta Sukan 2026 – Maverixx Elite U23 🏐

On 29 August 2026, the Maverixx Elite U23 team took to the courts for the Pesta Sukan Netball Carnival.

It was another very hot day, with the players battling the heat throughout the morning. But they kept pushing, supporting each other and competing right until the end.

A huge congratulations to the Maverixx Elite U23 team, finishing as Runners-Up in the U23 Division! 🥈👏

What makes this result even more special is the age of our team. Many of these players are still U19, playing up and challenging themselves against older players in the U23 division.

It is especially rewarding to see players who have grown through SGNA, including some who are still part of our SGNA programmes today, taking the next steps in their development with Maverixx. Competing above their age group gives them another opportunity to develop their skills, confidence, physicality and understanding of the game.

This is exactly the pathway we want to create: young players developing through SGNA, then continuing to challenge themselves at higher levels with Maverixx.

There is still plenty more development ahead for these young players, but performances like this show that they are heading in the right direction.

When players are on court, they already have plenty to think about, their position, their teammates, their opponent and the instructions from their coach.
They don’t need another coach shouting from the sideline.

Cheer loudly. Support proudly. Leave the coaching to the coach.

U8 Mini League — Day 2, August 23rd at RGPS 🏐

Seven days ago, first day of the league, they stepped on court. And day 2? They came back knowing exactly what they needed to do.

That’s the power of experience. That’s why development leagues matter. Every match, every league, is one more chance to see how fast they can grow.

🏐 SGNA All Stars Fiesta — Day 2 | Saturday, 22 August | OCBC Arena

Another great morning of netball at the SGNA All Stars Netball Fiesta, with our players getting the opportunity to step outside their usual training environment and play against teams from other academies.

Playing different opponents is always valuable. Every team brings a different style, different challenges and different situations for our players to work through on court. It gives them the chance to put what they learn in training into practice, making decisions under pressure, communicating with teammates, adapting their play and growing in confidence.

For us, these events are about more than results. They are about giving young players more court time, more match experience and more opportunities to develop their game.

A big thank you to the visiting teams for joining us, and to all the players, coaches and parents who helped create another enjoyable morning of netball. 💛❤️

What a journey for our former SGNA player Norah Gabriel.

After developing her netball in Singapore, Norah took on the challenge of moving to Melbourne and competing in a higher and more competitive netball environment, testing herself against talented players in one of the strongest netball countries in the world.

And what a 2026 season she has had with Lightning Futures. ⚡️

🏆 Premier 1 Premiership Champions — for the second consecutive year
🏐 Spirit of Netball Award
⚡️ Player of the Finals

At the same time, Norah continued representing Singapore 🇸🇬, helping the Singapore Vandas become Asian Champions and qualify for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney. 🌏🏆

For SGNA, this is exactly why we love sharing stories like Norah’s.

Years ago, she was one of the young players developing her game with SGNA in Singapore. Today, she is representing her country, winning a Premiership in Melbourne, receiving individual recognition and continuing her progression into higher-level Australian netball.

To every young player at SGNA:
Where you start doesn’t determine how far you can go.
Every training session, every difficult game, every tournament, every win and every loss is another small part of your development.

U9 & U10 Development League — Final Day, August 23rd at OCBC Arena 🏐

The journey ends here. Four weeks. Four rounds. One incredible league.

Our U9s and U10s stepped on court for the last time and left everything out there. From day one to day four, they competed, they grew, they learned what it means to be part of SGNA.

This league wasn’t just about winning. It was about showing up consistently, facing challenges, and becoming stronger with every match. Our players did exactly that.

Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey. The real work continues next season. 💛❤️

⚡️ Norah has secured a contract with Melbourne Lightning U23 to compete in the Victorian Netball League in 2027!

NETBALL DAD #002 – The Car Ride Home 🚗🏐

The final whistle has gone.
The coach has finished.
The players are tired.
But David? David is just getting started. 😂

Why waste a perfectly good car ride when you can analyse every pass, turnover and decision from the last four quarters?
After all, David had the best view of the game… from behind the goalpost.

A little reminder for all of us sports parents: sometimes the best post-match analysis is simply:
“I loved watching you play.” ❤️
Then let them enjoy the ride home.

🏐 TNA U9 Development League – Growing Through the Tough Games 🏐

Not every game ends with smiles and a win, and that’s part of learning to play sport.

Our 8-year-old SGNA players are competing in the TNA U9 Development League, where they regularly come up against older, bigger and more experienced players.

That can be tough. But it is also exactly where development happens.

Every difficult pass, every lost ball, every goal conceded and every moment when things don’t go their way gives our young players an opportunity to learn.

They learn to keep trying when the game is difficult.
They learn to support their teammates.
They learn to stay focused when they are behind.
And most importantly, they learn that losing a game is not the same as failing.

We could always look for easier games. But easy games don’t necessarily create stronger players.

At SGNA, we want our young players to experience challenges, make mistakes, learn from them and discover that they can come back and try again.

Because at eight years old, the most important result isn’t on the scoreboard.

It’s the player who walks off the court a little stronger than when she walked on. ❤️🏐
