Through Odissi-based movement, Natyam, storytelling and theatre, we journey from the River’s humble beginnings, through industrialisation and pollution, to renewal and revitalisation.

This is more than the story of a river. It is the story of a nation, its people and its resilience.

Honoured to be a part of an evening of Odissi at the Odissi Festival 2026 hosted by

led by Guru Soumee De opened with Megh Pallavi — a lyrical and evocative pure dance composition inspired by the mood of monsoon clouds. This was followed by Dasavatar, based on the celebrated Ashtapadi from the Gita Govinda by poet Jayadeva. The piece portrays the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu and remains one of the most iconic compositions in the Odissi repertoire — weaving together devotion, poetry, rhythm, and dramatic storytelling.
