The word chowk in Hindi means a town square, a place where people gathered. In Odissi CHOWK is the basic posture of the dance. CHOWK- a Centre for dance, started in 2007 with a handful of students, classes were held all over the island wherever there were studios available. On 5th September, Ananya, takes the stage for an evening entirely her own! A Grade 11 student at UWC, Ananya has been training in Odissi with us for a few years now.
Accompanied by vocalist Anamika Suresh and instrumentals by Mitu Das.
