Progress doesn’t look impressive in the beginning.

It starts with: • incline pushups before pushups
• assisted pull-ups before pull-ups
• bodyweight squats before adding weight

Most people quit because they compare their Chapter 1 to someone else’s Chapter 20.

But if your exercises are getting harder, your body is getting stronger.
And if your habits are getting more consistent, your life is changing.

Small upgrades repeated weekly > random motivation once a month.

That’s how real transformation happens. 💪

If you can’t do a push-up yet, that doesn’t mean you’re weak.
It means you need the right progression.

Start with incline pushups.
Then full pushups.
Then bench press.

Same movement.
Different difficulty levels.

The same applies to almost every exercise:

• Bodyweight squat → Goblet squat → Barbell squat
• Dumbbell row → Lat pulldown → Pull-up
• Glute bridge → Romanian deadlift → Deadlift

Most beginners fail because they copy advanced workouts instead of building foundations first.

Your joints, coordination and strength all need time to adapt.

Master the easier version first.
Then earn the harder one.

That’s how you build strength safely and sustainably.

Just because someone looks fit doesn’t mean every exercise they do is effective for fat loss.

Most real body transformations come from:

- A calorie deficit
- Consistent strength training
- Daily activity
- Proper nutrition over time

Not random “fat burning” movements with tiny weights and 30 seconds of effort.

A lot of these exercises are fine for mobility, warm-ups or beginners — but they are NOT the reason someone got lean and muscular.

If you’re in your 30s or 40s, stop chasing “secret fat loss exercises” and focus on the basics that actually work long term:

- Build muscle
- Eat better
- Sleep properly
- Stay consistent

That’s what changes your body.

Most people fail fat loss because they choose the exercise they hate the least instead of the one they can actually sustain.

You do NOT need to destroy yourself with HIIT every day to lose weight.
You need a system you can stick to for years.

Cardio is great for your heart, fitness and overall health.
But if your main goal is fat loss and long-term body composition, strength training changes the game.

More muscle = higher calorie burn even at rest.
You become stronger, leaner and harder to “bounce back” after bad meals or busy weeks.

The best workout isn’t the one that burns the most calories in 30 minutes.
It’s the one you’ll still be doing 6 months from now.

Run because you enjoy it.
Lift because you want results that last. đź’Ş

Singaporean breakfasts are terrible for weight loss

Most local breakfasts are very high in carbs and fats, but low in protein and fibre

This causes your blood sugar to spike quickly, giving you energy for awhile… then crash shortly after

That “crash” is why you feel sleepy, hungry again, crave sweet drinks or start snacking before lunch

Protein and fibre digest slower and keep you full longer, but most local breakfasts barely have enough of either

So even if you think: “I only ate breakfast leh”

You’re probably consuming a lot of calories without actually staying full

That’s why many Singaporeans struggle with weight loss before the day even properly starts

Your fat loss is failing because you’re ignoring these 3 things.

1. Track your food
You can’t fix what you don’t measure.

2. Prioritise protein
Higher protein = fuller longer + better muscle retention.

3. Walk more
Fat loss doesn’t need endless cardio.
Daily movement matters more than you think.

24/05/2026

Most people fail in the gym because they start at the “advanced” version too early.

Your body doesn’t care about ego.
It cares about progression.

Can’t squat heavy yet?
Start with bodyweight. Then goblet. Then barbell.

Can’t do pull-ups yet?
Rows first. Then pulldowns. Then pull-ups.

Same for pushups and bench press.

The best exercise is the one you can actually control properly RIGHT NOW.

Master the basics.
Progress the movement.
Earn the harder variation.

That’s how you build real strength without destroying your joints or confidence.

Cardio burns calories while you’re doing it.
Strength training changes your body even when you’re NOT training.

More muscle = higher metabolism.
Higher metabolism = burning more calories doing absolutely nothing.

That’s why people who only do cardio lose weight…
then gain it all back.

BUT people who strength train?
They build a body that burns fat long term.

And let’s be honest…

Running for 45 minutes just to burn off one bubble tea is a depressing lifestyle.

Everyone thinks fat loss starts with cardio.
Treadmill. Sweating. 10,000 steps.

BUT if your diet is still bad…
you’re basically trying to outrun your fork.

You can burn 300 calories in a workout…
then accidentally eat it back in 3 minutes with one sweet drink or snack.

That’s why dieting matters more.

Cardio HELPS.
BUT your diet decides whether you lose weight or not.

A calorie deficit will always beat “I did cardio today”.

The people who lose weight and actually keep it off?
They usually fix their eating habits first…
then use cardio as a bonus, not the main strategy.
