Wang Yan was involved in a swimming accident and suffered a near fatal drowning. By the time he was rescued he had already experienced a long period of time without oxygen.
His condition remains critical and dependant on life support equipments to keep him alive. His parents are not able to be by his side in these crucial moments as they are elderly, not familiar with Singapore and financially stretched.
