Genyōkan’s MJER Renmei Singapore Iaido Seminar 2026

Genyōkan successfully concluded its MJER Renmei Singapore Iaido Seminar, held from 21st to 23rd August 2026.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Matsumoto sensei and Wakabayashi sensei from Renmei, as well as our guest instructor from Genwakan, Mikhail sensei, for their invaluable teaching and guidance.

We would also like to thank all the members who attended the seminar and generously contributed their time and assistance towards making it a success.

Genyōkan’s MJER Renmei Singapore Iaido Seminar 2026

Day 3 at Solstice Business Centre on 23 Aug 2026.

Day 3 is Tachi Uchi no Kurai (太刀打之位) day, with members pairing up and splitting into three groups. After receiving instruction and guidance from the sensei assigned to each group, members are asked to demonstrate the entire Tachi Uchi no Kurai set.

August 31 - November 2 iaido session in Emeryville begins today!

Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido / 無雙直傳英信流居合道

Classical Japanese martial art of drawing and using the samurai sword with unbroken line of transmission from the late 16th century. The purpose of iaido practice is to develop awareness, calm mind, and mental and physical harmony. Another common way to describe iaido is as meditation in motion.

Day 2 at Solstice Business Centre on 22 Aug 2026.

Junior members received their Renmei membership cards brought over from Japan. With a Renmei membership, members are able to legitimise their training, and are eligible to participate in Taikai hosted by affiliated dojos around the world, as well as official dan grading and proper lineage recognition.
