Sometimes, the best way to understand a teacher training is to hear from someone who has actually lived it.

From arriving with questions, doubts and curiosity to leaving with more confidence, clarity and a much deeper relationship with yoga.

This is what the journey can look like. 🤍

Our next Yoga Teacher Training is now open for enrolments.

Malasana, or Garland Pose.

The name comes from the way the body settles low and grounded, with the arms and hands often creating a shape that resembles a garland around the legs.

It’s a posture that looks simple, but asks quite a lot from the body, especially the hips, ankles and legs.

For me, Malasana is also a reminder that yoga isn’t always about reaching further.

Sometimes it’s about coming closer to the ground, staying with the discomfort, breathing through it, and allowing the body to open in its own time.

A simple shape. A deeply grounding practice.

What do you actually do for 200 hours in a Yoga Teacher Training?

You begin with intention.

You learn the poses, of course. But you also start asking why.

Why this alignment?
Why this sequence?
Why this cue?
Why does something work for one body and not another?

And slowly, your practice starts to change.

You stop only thinking about how yoga feels in your own body, and start learning how to observe, explain, adapt and teach it to someone else.

That’s what those 200 hours are really about.

Not just learning more yoga.

Learning how to teach it.

What makes a good teacher?

Ask ten students, and you’ll probably get ten different answers.

Patient. Observant. Honest. Encouraging. Someone who knows when to push, and when not to.

So instead of trying to describe Ritu ourselves, we asked the people who’ve actually learnt from her.

This is what they had to say.

Most people think Triangle Pose is about reaching the floor.

It isn’t.

Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) is about creating length while staying grounded.

Root through the feet.

Reach through the fingertips.

Keep the chest open.

Create space through both sides of the body.

And if your hand doesn’t reach the floor? That’s completely fine.

Forcing yourself lower often means losing the alignment you were trying to create in the first place.

In yoga, deeper doesn’t always mean better.

Sometimes the strongest practice is knowing when to stop reaching.

Save this for your next Trikonasana practice.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burnt out to take a break.

Sometimes the signs are quieter.

You’re functioning.

You’re getting through the week.

You’re still showing up.

You’re just more tired than you used to be, less patient, less present, and not quite yourself.

Beyond Burnout is a chance to step away before your body forces you to.

A few days of yoga, meditation, massages, nourishing food, nature and actual rest.

No pressure to achieve anything.

No packed schedule.

No pretending a weekend away fixes everything.

Just space to slow down properly.

Burnout doesn’t always look like falling apart.

Sometimes, everything is still working.

You’re showing up. Work is getting done. People think you’re fine.

And you are, technically.

You’re just tired in a way that a good night’s sleep, a slow Sunday or one weekend away doesn’t seem to fix.

That’s the space Beyond Burnout was created for.

A week to step out of the pace you’ve got used to and give your mind and body something different: yoga, Ayurveda, massages, nourishing food, nature and, most importantly, time without constantly having to be “on”.

Not a packed wellness itinerary.

Not a weekend that disappears before you’ve even exhaled.

Just proper time to reset.

Think yoga isn’t for you because you’re too stiff?

That’s exactly why you may need it.

Hours at a desk don’t just leave you feeling tired.

Over time, they can tighten your hips, round your shoulders and make your body feel less mobile than it used to.

You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga.

You practise yoga to become more mobile, stronger and more connected to your body.

At Rudrakshaa, we offer both personal and group yoga classes, so you can choose the kind of practice that works best for you.

Movement isn’t a luxury. Your body was built for it.

Start where you are. 🧘

Not just taking a break, but stepping away from the noise, the notifications, the endless to-do list, and giving yourself space to breathe.

Join us in Kerala for a retreat designed to help you pause, reconnect, and return to yourself.

Sometimes, slowing down is exactly what you need to move forward.

What if rest wasn’t something you had to earn?

We live in a constant state of doing. Answering messages, meeting deadlines, making plans, taking care of everyone else, and moving from one thing to the next without ever really stopping.

Eventually, the body asks us to slow down.

Beyond Burnout is an invitation to do exactly that.

A 7-day retreat in the heart of Kerala where you can step away from the pace of everyday life and return to a slower, more grounded way of being.

Through traditional yoga, mindful practices, meditation, movement, nourishing food and time in nature, this retreat is designed to help you pause, reconnect with your body, quiet the mind and create space for yourself again.

Not an escape from your life.
A chance to return to it with more clarity, energy and presence.

📍 Kerala, India
📅 October 22–28

If your body has been asking for a pause, perhaps this is your sign.
