Coach Space breaking down a simple, highly effective defensive flow you can practice anywhere—no partner required.

Here is the progression to build into your next shadowboxing session:

1️⃣ Knee Taps: Focuses on loading your hips and keeping your weight centered while slipping.
2️⃣ Knee Taps + Uppercuts: Transitioning from defense to offense. Slip, load, and counter up the middle.
3️⃣ Rolls: Dropping your level and transferring your weight from one leg to the other to slip under hooks.
4️⃣ Rolls + Hooks: Roll under, load the hip, and fire back with leverage.
Consistency over speed. Master the mechanics first, then add the pace.

FOCUS OF THE WEEK: STANCE & BALANCE ⚖️

​Power doesn't start in your fists—it starts in your feet. If your base is weak, your punches lose their sting, and you leave yourself wide open for counters.

​This week, we’re taking inspiration from one of the masters of the canvas: Canelo Álvarez. Known for his rock-solid, strong base and incredibly subtle weight shifts, Canelo uses his balance to set up devastating counter-attacks.

​Key Focus Points on the floor this week:

​Keep your weight centered: Avoid leaning too far forward or back.

​Stay balanced while punching: Power comes from a stable anchor, not throwing yourself off balance.

​Maintain stance while defending: Your stance shouldn't fall apart just because punches are coming your way.

​Be ready to move or strike: Always maintain the ability to transition instantly.

​The Drill Focus:

We will be drilling this with stance adjustments and balance control. No rushing, no sloppy footwork—just pure, intentional mechanics.
