We congratulate Lars on his 30 years of membership in Wing Tsun within the EWTO.
He has dedicated a significant part of his life to martial arts, and to Wing Tsun in particular. He teaches Wing Tsun with great passion in Helsingborg. Over the years, he has learned the complete unarmed system and has frequently attended seminars and training courses in Germany.
His particular focus has been—and continues to be—on the forms, as well as on structure, biomechanics, fighting principles, and strategy. The principles of Grandmaster Kernspecht’s Magic Hands have also become an integral part of his training and teaching.
With great dedication and meticulous attention to detail, Lars has kept extensive records of everything he has learned. He has also created a comprehensive book covering the 12 student grades, illustrated with numerous pictures. He is constantly developing his own knowledge and skills and, at the same time, passing them on to his students.
And there is more: Lars regularly writes specialist articles in which he also looks beyond the boundaries of Wing Tsun and explores the wider world of martial arts. By now, I have saved 58 of his articles.
I am very pleased as instructor in the Name of EWTO for sweden to have been able to accompany him on his journey for the past five years and to continue contributing new ideas and impulses, particularly in the area of Magic Hands.
In his honour, I have brought with me from the EWTO headquarters the certificate marking his 30 years of membership.
But that is not all:
In recognition of Lars’s extensive skills and abilities as a teacher, I am delighted, here and now, to appoint Lars as Sifu on behalf of the EWTO.
A Sifu, in the Chinese sense of the word, is a fatherly teacher and mentor who is capable of independently passing on the Wing Tsun system to others.

I am thinking about different martial arts:

When you look as beginner from outside you think - wow how different they are for example:

Karate
WingTsun
Teakwando
Ju-jitsu
MMA
kravMaga

And then you become a master and meet masters from the other styles and you start thinking : what the hell is the difference?

They all emphasise:
Attention, Attitude, body structure, body movabilaty, Biomechanics, Distance Training, Timing , Footwork, fighting strategy working with contact feeling (Wing Tsun early others later)

So in the end it’s all the same and they are all interested in inner styles for biomechanics.

The differences are only that they prefer and are especially good in different distances from kicking over boxing distance to elbow/knee, throwing, to ground fighting.

At the moment it looks as MMA is the winner - but this is only valid when there are fighting rules.
