The venue for the FIDE World Chess Championship 2026 has officially been announced.
The battle for the World Title between ๐ฎ๐ณ D Gukesh and ๐บ๐ฟ Javokhir Sindarov will take place in the beautiful city of Geneva, Switzerland, from 25th November to 15th December 2026.
Several countries, including India, the USA, and Cyprus, submitted bids to host the match, but Geneva was ultimately selected as the venue.
This will also be a historic match, as both Gukesh and Sindarov will be just 20 years old when the championship begins, making it the youngest World Championship Match in chess history.
